Distraction
Calicodreamin24 February 2022
To distract you from there being no plot this season, they threw in a surprise character and fun picnic. A few funny moments, Harry's got jokes, but mostly meh.

This is a "try hard" middle schooler in tv form
ingridwinter-3161324 February 2022
Its nice to see the sheriff acting less like a moronic twit and more like a normal person. I actually laughed once probably for the time this season, the fake leg kid. The miner play was so funny but in actual fact totally ridiculous and unbelievable - i guess they are trying to keep the "off the wall" brand of humour going but its kinda like a girl wearing too much makeup and cheap jewellery - if you gotta try that hard it just doesn't work.

Plot holes...if the alien can wipe peoples memory, they why did he kill Dr. Van der Spiegel on ep1 and just wipe his memory and if he had the strength of 6 gorillas, why did asta manage to knock over the radio satelite? These things just don't make sense.

One of the best this season

I laughed a lot. Not a common thing in this season to be honest.

Alien learning about the father-daughter relationship, Asta and Darcy confessing their emotions and feelings, such a wholesome episode.

Finally laughter returns!
krashramone25 February 2022
This is the first episode of season 2 to make us laugh. The daughter was a great character to play off of Harry. And that play was hysterical; that song was too much!

Hilarious

Warning: Spoilers
This was probably my favorite episode of the season so far. Definitely a return to season one form. There's something about the dynamic between Harry and both the Sheriff and Deputy that I find hilarious. It also had a good amount of character development and reveal, while still being humorous. The scenes with Harry and his newfound daughter were also great, though I'm not sure where that's going long term story-wise. Also, the mayor's play, and the town's reaction was amazing. I couldn't stop laughing at that part.

I definitely enjoyed this one.

A sh.. here we go again

For sure it's better than the Girls Night episode, but well, this wasn't hard cause the Girls Night episode was the worst trash ever. Anyway, also this episode don't nearly reach the quality of the first season. It was so predictable i really must laugh out loud! New episode, and et voilà, another unimportant supporting actress shows up in Patience instead of concentrating on the main story >>>Harry the Alien<<<! Really, who needed Harrys daughter? Aren't there enough excellent characters who build the story and the entire series? Why is there a constant need for new characters that aren't good for the show? They are not needed. All these new characters are making the show really boring!

Warning: Spoilers
The parts of this episode with Harry playing the role of father were very funny! Nice to get more back story on the sheriff, finally. Hopefully future episodes are equally funny!

Great episode

This is very good just more episodes like this would make the second season so much better. I hope to see more of Harry's daughter. Also really enjoyed seeing the mayor getting hit by water balloons.

Not expecting Shakespeare

Warning: Spoilers
The best part of this episode is what has been lacking in the previous, character development. I mean learning the back story to the other character, not just Harry and Asta's.

The daughter was a nice way to expand on Harry's ability to be more human and to understand the world around him.

Learning the background of the dufus sheriff makes him a little more tolerable. But "Mayor Snowflake" and the little dominatrix Sahar, really need to fall into the mine shaft and never come out.

I do like that they are giving the deputy (Elizabeth Bowen) a little more time to show off her comedic chops.

This is one of those episodes where you want to say it sucks, yet the funny moments outweigh the cringe worthy moments.

Family Day.
bombersflyup24 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
An okay episode, notably directed by Lea Thompson of "Back to the Future." Speaking of direction, the total lack of it in terms of the story. Meanwhile these irrelevant characters have more scenes and depth, which isn't a good thing. The sheriff flashback's ridiculous, some dude chasing some dude, gunshot sound. Equally equivalent to that character, so whatever. The father/daughter segments decent, Harry excellent. Also immature stuff's included.

Finally back to good writing.

I actually cared about the characters this episode. I know it was a bit off course story-wise, but this show needs more character development or this will be the last season.

Fart Jokes???
lusciousmuffins24 February 2022
This episode was a dramatic improvement over the previous two in terms of it not injecting quite so much woke cringe.

Alas, that's about all the good news there is.

Seemingly gone from this show are the carefully crafted plots and biting satire.

In their place are convoluted storylines and childish attempts at humor.

To give credit where it is do, the episode did manage to slip in some world building and a couple heartwarming moments.

The problem is those were buried amid a tangled mess of ideas that lacked continuity, both within the episode and across the larger series' arcs.

Moreover, several of the plot points were so poorly handled as to be offensive.

As per the previous episodes and marketing, Harry's daughter shows up, but her appearance and disappearance was handled with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer upside your head.

This entire second season feels like the writers have lost their way.

Why that is, I cannot say.

I only know their sophomoric attempts at humor, heavy handed politics, and overall poor story structure are swiftly killing a once great show.

Family Day
Prismark1026 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
All of a sudden Lea Thompson seems to be everywhere as a director. Star Trek: Picard and Resident Alien. She must have a DeLorean.

Harry discovers that he has a rebellious teenage daughter. Now he must connect with his estranged daughter.

A family day gives both an unexpected opportunity to bond. It also makes Harry confident to make a trip to New York that he has been avoiding.

The episode is once again less about Harry. Dealing with wider characters instead. The Mayor seems to have devolved into comedy stupidity. He did not realise that his play about the trapped miners was in bad taste.

I did like Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv realising that they have lost some memories. It gives Harry an opportunity to give Mike a false but happy memory.

There is something about the second series that the writers are throwing everything and the kitchen sink in the hope that something sticks.

Oh my God it's so bad the show is excellent but this episode totally sucked.

The only redeeming quality is a daughter she's excellent. Liza (Taylor Blackwell)

Was that good?
Rob-O-Cop27 February 2022
There were a few funny bits, I chuckled as some one liners but I'm not sure it was a good episode. Throwing in a few jokes doesn't make it a coherent series and the trite life lessons sure aren't helping.

A little more effort to make the plot in someway believable wouldn't go a miss. The ridiculous daughter we've never heard aboutvisiting her dad who is inhabited by an alien who can't act in anyway normal let alone like the person she grew up with, they weren't even trying, maybe that was intentional?

It's hard to follow a coherent plot, a direction, a point and that's what is sinking this ship quickly.

Grow up Chris Sheridan
michaeldanielbourke4 March 2022
C'mon, you can now start to tell where Chris Sheridan started his "writing" career, what started as a sweet and silly show has now devolved into fart jokes, and a seemingly vast array of sexual innuendo and jokes. Now I a, not a prude but don't see Hy this is the direction the show has decided to head to. Needless to say, I cannot imagine that this will get a 3rd season, and if it does. I won't be watching.
