We meet Emma Graham, wife and mother on the lane, who decides she wants to pursue her dream of being a cabaret singer. She sets up a show at the Smokehouse and gets Dave Koz to sit in with her and the gang goes to see her play. She's really good. The show is interrupted by a fight between Gaby and Renee, in which Renee punches Gaby in the nose.
We flash back one week.
Susan continues her Va-Va-Va Broom work and takes on individual clients where she actually sees the men. The man is insistent on wanting to see her breasts and she tries to slow him down. She eventually "hangs up" on him. Maxine is livid as he was an important client and says she can't keep giving her chances like this and essentially fires her.
Bree is apologizing to Keith for taking him to such a formal place as they walk home. He kisses her goodnight. He says he's trying to treat her like a lady. She tells him to knock it off and starts making out with him.
The next day she tells the ladies she and Keith had sex three times the night before. She loved it, everything is better because of it. Renee shows up and Gaby calls her a self-absorbed narcissistic diva. Renee arrives with champagne to celebrate her divorce settlement. She invites the ladies over for dinner. Only Gaby can come.
Later Lynette is interviewing nannies and they're either inexperienced or expensive. Tom found one more applicant. It's his mother. She does not love this idea. Mom arrives with suitcases.
Gaby and Renee hang and drink and gab. Renee says she feels like Gaby gets her, because they're both extremely beautiful. They joke about what their beauty has gotten them. Renee tells her that she slept with her now ex's lawyer to get a better settlement and then tells Gaby not to tell anyone. Renee asks Gaby for dirt on her. Gaby admits to a nose job. She asks Renee not to tell anyone.
The next morning Tom's mom is doting on her son, calling him his father's name. The baby cries and Tom's mom goes after her. Lynette says in small doses mom is great but she can't stand the person Tom becomes when his mother is around, a mama's boy.
Mike is at the bank and he runs into Lee. Lee asks if Mike wants to sell the house to Paul. Mike threatens to kick his ass for even suggesting it.
Lee calls Paul and tells him that Mike's not interested in selling the house. Paul says he wants this house. Mike is confused by his and Susan's bank balance. At home Susan is trying to sell a silver bracelet heirloom over the phone. Lynette comes over to return a necklace she borrowed. Susan starts to cry and Lynette goes to the bedroom to get her a tissue. Mike comes home and asks about the money missing from the account. Lynette comes out and says Susan lent it to her to cover some bills. Susan says she's paying it back by Friday. Mike leaves and Susan spills. Lynette is all yelly and judgey. Susan responds about the dire straits they're in. Lynette becomes more supportive and says she's sorry Susan had to do that. Susan says she is too.
Renee's ex pays a surprise visit, complete with roses. She tries to rebuff him but lets him in. He claims he misses her and that the mistress was a stupid mistake and he asks for another chance. She says she's getting a fresh start and is actually happy. He doesn't believe it and offers up a fancy ring. He says he wants their life back and wonders if she does too.
Keith and Bree have returned from a play and it's clear he's not a theatre kind of guy. She goes to make him "dessert" and he gets naked to offer his version of dessert. They have amazing sex, all over the house. Until she's exhausted and not excited about doing it.
The next day, hanging out with the ladies, she can barely walk. The had sex for six hours. Gaby asks why she doesn't just ask for a break but Bree is worried that will make her seem old. Renee arrives with the news that she's starting to rethink the divorce. She asks if she's crazy. Bree and Lynette tell her to give it a chance. Gaby tells her she's crazy and that she's being bought off. Renee says to keep her "fake nose" out of it. Lynette and Bree give her a hard time, as expected. Jokingly, of course. She tells Renee she'll regret it.
Later, an exhausted Bree has an epiphany. She gives him a huge to-do list to tire him out.
Tom is headed out on a trip and gets Lynette to agree that his mom has been good with the baby. He heads off. At dinner Tom's mom questions Lynette's decision to go back to work in front of the kids. The boys then take advantage of her desire to take care. She asks Penny for help and Lynette puts a stop to that saying in this house the women don't wait on the men, they get off their asses and help themselves. Tom's mom, who is named Alison, wonders when it became a sin to take care of a family and that modern women seem to plop out babies and run back to their "silly" careers. Lynette points out that Alison's well-cared for husband had an affair and left. The kids shoot her daggers and Allison staggers out.
Keith, exhausted, says he's done with work and that every part of his body hurts. He climbs into bed but he's not so exhausted that he can't get it up. Bree finally admits she can't keep up with his sex drive. He can't believe she's the one who feels like she can't keep up. He feels like he can't keep up with her intellectually which is why he's always "sexing her up" to keep her interested. She says she's interested and loves his way of seeing the world, fun and down to earth and everything she's not. He realizes she likes him how he is, he hadn't thought of that. She says very much and tells him to put that thing away and let them get some rest.
Tom comes home to find a new nanny. He fires her. They fight about his mother. Tom says he's finally going to make some decisions in this marriage and his mother stays.
Susan's at school and Maxine calls and offers to hire Susan back since there's this one guy offers serious money to have a session with her.
It's finally the night of Emma's show and Gaby is still fuming about Renee tattling on her. Renee shows up with Doug. Lee and McCluskey come up to Gaby and needle her about her nose. She's getting pretty drunk when the bartender tries to hand a champagne bucket to a waitress to bring to Renee and Doug. Gaby takes it, brings it over, and tells Doug that Renee slept with his lawyer. Doug leaves.
Emma starts to perform and Renee drags Gaby into the hallway. Renee says her marriage trumps Gaby's nose and that Gaby is a pathetic housewife. Gaby calls Renee a whore essentially. We're back to the fight from the top of the hour and Renee punching Gaby in the nose.
The next day Doug calls Renee and asks if they can call it even since that's what they both want.
Lynette apologizes to Allison. Allison apologizes for crossing a line, she says she just liked feeling useful. Lynette says she is useful. Allison wonders why Lynette would want to give up making her family happy to go back to work. Lynette says that's who she is. The baby cries and Lynette goes to help her. Penny enters and grabs a cookie from the table. Allison apologizes and asks what her name is again. Penny, she tells her. She then asks if Penny lives here. Penny looks at her curiously. (It's not clear whether this is actually happening or Allison is staging some kind of ruse.)
Renee and Gaby apologize to each other. Renee tells Gaby that she turned Doug down at his offer for reconciliation and said Gaby was right that she needed to open her eyes. She says she'll take a real friend over a sapphire ring any day.
Susan goes to meet with the new client and of course, it's Paul Young. She slams the computer shut but he says he's still there. She opens the computer back up and he tells her that he wants to buy her house and he's willing to pay a very fair price. She says it's not for sale. He says it seems like plenty of things are for sale, like her body and her dignity and the house seems small compared to that. He threatens to tell Mike about Va-Va-Va Broom.
Mary Alice tells us that Paul knew what he was doing was wrong and that he could be in trouble if he got caught but he had a plan to pay back the people of Wisteria Lane by pitting them against each other and he knew it would work.
