The film is dedicated to Charles Bukowski. The name Wikkobus is an anagram of Bukowski.
The production team was looking for a golden bass guitar. Which was harder then it seems. At a social network site, they accidentally saw some pictures of a man who was playing a golden bass. The man who was playing the bass was looking very stylish and perfect for the role of the Bass Player. Even though the bass player on the pictures wasn't an actor (he's a pub owner in Holland) they decided to cast him (and his golden bass) immediately.
In the scene in the filmstore, Marilyn McMolly grabs a magazine. The woman on the cover of the magazine is Scarlett Johansson. This is a reference to the comparison of Marilyn Monroe and Scarlett Johansson.
Reference: The title of the film, The Blue Bus, is a reference to The Doors song 'The End': "The blue bus is callin' us/C'mon baby, take a chance with us/And meet me at the back of the blue bus"
Sanne Kortooms: Due to an extra who got stuck in traffic, the Writer/Director has an unplanned cameo appearance in the film.
