There's not too much to say about Fishmans: Otokotachi no Wakare 98.12.28 @ Akasaka Blitz. It's a live recording of an iconic live album - one that many would call one of the best live albums of all time. It's the most celebrated work by Japanese psychedelic rock/pop band Fishmans, and one that I'd listened to without visuals plenty of times before, over the years.
Seeing some visuals accompanying the familiar songs made for a nice experience. The concert's uploaded on YouTube, and there are even lyrics for some of the songs that have been translated, which was neat. I'm not sure how accurate they were, and I know English lyrics for many Fishmans songs haven't been particularly available in the past (maybe that's changed recently?), but either way, that was neat.
It's also one of the only things that makes this stand out from just listening to the album. The visuals for the concert itself get the job done, but it's not shot in a particularly fantastic manner or anything... but it also doesn't really need to be, because it's the music that counts here, and the music is still fantastic. Highlights include Night Cruising and of course the final, 40+ minute version of Long Season. That last track in particular is just perfect music, really.
