the duet needed to go last
subwmn31 August 2015
this is a good episode and am happy they made it. Hopefully they will make it and win next time, but it may be without Finn. I have not seen any further episodes and really do not want to see the last episode of Cory because he made the character good. I think they should have the duet last. Make everything exciting, then their duet, dips her and kisses her. It makes it a big"I forgive you" thing, kiss of the century. It has been coming for a long time because he truly loves her. She wants to go to NY and become a big star, but when you think about her birth mom and what she had to give up, that should have been a lesson. take Finn to NY. He supports her, was a better boyfriend and will always protect her. A girl can't ask for more.

Do You Believe in Magic?
lynnwengland13 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I don't. As someone who has spent 45 years in the performing arts, I can abso-bloomin-lootley tell you that flawless performances come from weeks and months of hard work and preparation. Yet here we are supposed to believe that a bunch of high school kids could "write" two songs and design intricate choreography over night and then go into a national competition? I DON'T THINK SO. It's preposterous for the writers to think we will buy the fact that a group would travel to NYC without a clue as to what they are actually going to do. "Winging" a national competition? It that were actually the case, they would have placed 50th, not 13th, and be laughed off the stage. This show had the potential to introduce it's target audience (teens) to the abundance of wonderful music and songs of which they are/were unaware. To some extent it did, but when they digressed to a salute to the ridiculous Justin Beiver it took a nose dive. Sadly, most of it's target audience has already heard his mindless dribble and through repetition, came to like it. We'll see what next season will bring. I hope that this stupid and boring teeny, extreme PC soap will turn around to showcasing the best of Broadway and Pop. Leave the repetitive eight bars over and over again to the mindless uninformed and sing REAL songs.

This episode is such a mess!
maiengel-830717 September 2023
How could these kids go to Nationals without having even prepared a song?! Writing two original songs the day before the competition they won't be able to rehearse or choreograph is just ludicrous. Plus, there is way too much happing in this episode with too many little subplots:
  • Quinn is angry
  • Mr Shue is trying to follow his dreams
  • Vocal Adrenaline is being evil as per usual
  • Kurt and Rachel plan for the future
  • Finn and Rachel are a mess, also as per usual
  • The kids misbehave
It's a mess and the result of the competition reflects that. The Glee kids are all over the place. How do they expect to stand a chance against 49 other prepared, rehearsed, passionate, and organised show choirs? Purleeese!

The Finale
eugesacct5 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I love Glee but in season 2, they really dropped the ball. The story-lines, where horrible, with the exception of Duets and Rumors. Now New York is probably one of the worst episodes I've ever seen. In fact it's probably one of the worst Finales I've seen for a TV show. The plot mainly focused on Rachel and Finn, if you like those characters you will probably like this episode, but if you don't you will most likely hate it.This show would have been better as a Filler episode rather then a finale. I just hope season 3 is better, then this crap. This episode would have been better had they focused on the competition, rather then a relationship. I was hoping for something "Big" but that never happened. Also it was too predictable on what was going to happen.
