Meanwhile Laurie professes her love for Smith, Bobby is obsessed with seeing a street performer swallow a sword, and Andy gets Travis to doubt Kylie's devotion.—ABC Publicity
- This week, it's true confession time. Travis (Dan Byrd) is trying to meet women at college but is having no luck. He goes home to hook up with Kylie, who is overjoyed to hear from him, but not so overjoyed to see him, as she is seeing another person. Jules (Courteney Cox) and Grayson (Josh Hopkins) run into Matt, whom Jules slept with about a year ago. Jules is uncomfortable, but Grayson takes the cool way out, saying he gets that Jules slept with other people before. Unfortunately, he thinks that works both ways and decides he's going to tell Jules he slept with Laurie (Busy Philipps). Two problems. 1) He probably shouldn't have revealed that while Smith was sitting right next to her in the same room, and 2) Laurie wants to be the one to tell Jules, since the person who confesses gets hurt last. They tell her...right as she is about to get her driver's license photo. And Bobby (Brian Van Holt), sadly, missed the sword swallower.
Jules is livid, especially given how her license turned out. Grayson thought she deserved to know the truth, and Laurie emphasized it was a one-time thing that happened before Jules even got together with Grayson. That didn't help, nor was Ellie (Christa Miller) insisting Jules get back in that gun turret and fire away. Bobby is sad...about missing the sword swallower, not Jules Jules wants details of Grayson and Laurie being lovers, and Bobby heads back to the sword swallower. Smith volunteers to drive. Jules wants to be upset, but she saw how cool Grayson was finding out about Matt (or Visor Guy, as he is now known), so she can't get upset. Which makes Ellie upset.
Travis confronts Kylie about the guy she was with, but she insisted they were simply friends. She bite-kisses Travis...and Andy (Ian Gomez), who was observing, wonders where she learned that. Clearly it wasn't from Travis. And on the other end of the Evil Married Couple undermining all their friends, Ellie rationalizes to Jules she has every right to be ticked at Laurie and Grayson because they waited so long to tell her. Waiting, in fact, until he saw her with Matt, as he would think she couldn't get mad at him anymore. ("Those schemers!") It is time for someone in the house to turn in their wine glass. And that someone is...Ellie! After all, Grayson wasn't dating Jules yet, and Jules was pushing Laurie at that time into finding someone. But Ellie knew about them and kept it from Jules, even though they spent years being brutally honest with each other. Ellie has to hand over her glass and leave the group. And Grayson puts out the flame on the wine. (You know, like on Survivor? Never mind, you wouldn't be watching this show if you didn't get the references.)
Later on, Jules is enjoying girl time with Andy, and Ellie is being tortured looking in their window. But Laurie confesses that she used to not have a conscience. She slept with Grayson, even knowing Jules liked her. Jules is now upset with Laurie and Ellie is back in the house. But Laurie refuses to leave because she wants to weather the storm. Jules goes up to her bedroom, and Laurie plants herself on the couch. The conversations between Andy and Travis and between Bobby and Smith are going about as well. And Bobby STILL hasn't seen the guy eat the sword. But Bobby is undeterred. He tricks Grayson into coming over to prove to Smith they're OK Grayson slept with Laurie. However, Smith realizes he should be jealous and care as much about Laurie as she cares about him. And there the problem lies, although Bobby did finally get to see the guy eat the sword.
Grayson skates his way back home to the sound of Jules beating the drums as if they were Laurie's body parts. Grayson tells her that she loves Laurie and can't cut her out of her life. Ellie agrees with that. Jules wants to be upset and not forgive, but Grayson points out that's why everybody loves her: she is always there for them. (Makes sense: she got ten years of practice on that other show.) But Jules doesn't want to forgive Laurie. Unfortunately, she comes downstairs to scream at everybody for backing Laurie and thinking she'll get off scot-free. But Laurie is outside being dumped by Smith at basically the worst possible time. Ellie thinks Laurie will be fine, but Jules (and Laurie's crying) say otherwise. Jules goes to console her.
