The Brave Locomotive

This has something of the "Thomas the Tank Engine" - only with a more toe-tapping soundtrack - to it. The old engine "Linus" with it's bulging eyes is set to be replaced by the mighty "Samson" - a bigger, better, altogether whizzier piece of luxury engineering. This leaves the driver as despondent as his now unwanted old engine, and with the new powerhouse quicker and more efficient, is the day done? Well, perhaps not - eh? Maybe small is still niftier and better after all? This has quite a lively score to accompany the animation and it moves along engagingly. If there is a moral here, it's probably that we need to build better bridges! Good fun, this!

The Cartoon That Finally Steamed On!

I loved trains as a child and seeing train cartoons were a blast, to me at least. After 15 years of hard work, this cartoon came along and not only brought back childhood memories of mine, but it also restores the magic of cartoons of the second half of the 1940s and the 1950s.

Every outline of characters man and locomotive alike are perfectly placed, the music is pleasant to listen to at work, and there are plenty of hidden references from media like the 1991 Little Engine That Could film, Dumbo, and most of all: The Brave Engineer.

Andrew Chesworth's greatest treasure has finally come to be. So if you like his work at Disney, you'll love this little cartoon until the scrapper's torch calls your name!

A wonderful tribute to Old School Disney in the 30s-60s, and just in time for their 100th Anniversary.

This short is a special throwback to the Old School Disney Era back when Walt Disney was around. Disney turned 100 years old in 2023 and presented WISH which received very mixed reviews and this short that came out in 2023 made by Disney animator Andrew Chesworth, who grew up with Disney Classics like Dumbo, Little Toot, and The Brave Engineer, presents how Disney SHOULD BE in this generation that we all remembered as rather than the direction that it's in now and I am sure the company is taking notes from this short what will help improve the it.

I recommend giving this a watch for those who are into animation, and adored Old School Disney, and also into Steam Locos. This film deserves a lot more attention in the animation industry and I'm delighted that this film got nominated.

Job well done, Walt would be very proud of you Andrew!

I suppose , great is only reasonable term to define it. Near lovely, off course. Or delightful. Because it reminds entire fascination offered by 1940 - 1950 animations. Their ingenuity, nice music, friendship, courage, sacrifice, duty and victory to triumph of good one are present here in their perfect form.

So, no doubts, an affective masterpiece.

To love it is easy but the fair reaction, after its end, can be only the gratitude.

In short, one of short animations inspiring the full good state and pure joy. Nothing to write more about this fascinating adventure and strong comradery between Linus and its Henry. Not ignoring the smart references to classics.

An awesome short film! The old video, which was a test, was nostalgic, and seeing the film finished is amazing! I love Linus saving Samson. Speaking of Samson, his design is amazing! His character in general is fantastic! And Linus' design reminds me of Casey Jr! The music and songs are beyond beautiful! Also, Andrew Chestworth did another nostalgic video I remember watching: the Wild West animation! Chesworth himself is an impressive animator! Overall, this film is a 2023 version of 1940's musical short films! I love it so much! Great moral not to only kids, but everyone in general! Straight up 10/10.
