A good movie, despite being predictable and corny...

I was given the chance to watch the 2010 "Wai nei chung ching" (aka "Frozen") from director Chi-kin Kwok here in 2019. And I hadn't actually heard about the movie prior to now, despite having a very big fondness for Asian cinema and Hong Kong in particular. Regardless, I was given the chance, and needed no persuasion to sit down and watch the movie.

I will say that "Frozen" was actually entertaining. Sure, it was corny, campy and predictable, but it was still an enjoyable movie, given the interesting storyline and because of some rather good acting performances by the cast in general.

While the movie doesn't really have an abundance of familiar faces or names to the cast list, well aside from Leon Lai, then the actors and actresses in the movie were doing great jobs in bringing their individual characters to life on the screen. There was a good chemistry between the cast, and that showed on the screen.

"Frozen" does, however, suffer a bit from being overly predictable. You know what will happen a mile away.

All in all, the 2010 movie "Frozen" lands a six out of ten stars rating from me, as it turned out to be a wholesome and entertaining movie. Hardly one of the brightest and more outstanding additions to the Hong Kong cinema, but it is well worth sitting down to watch.
