interesting with some nice characters analysis

The TV show have some interesting moments and explore some interesting characters and their actions in the movies. Have an interesting characters exploration with some nice stories and essay about the movies about some deviant characters.

A Video Essay With Nothing to Say, Said Poorly

I would readily believe that Drew McSweeny is doing a very good impression of the dumbest person he met while in film school. It's harder to believe that a professional film critic would make a video essay on unlikeable characters with absolutely no point, just a laundry list of unlikeable characters and a grab bag of buzzwords completely divorced from meaning. He says at one point that "drama has very little to do with what we like or what makes us comfortable, and that's part of the purpose of drama," which almost sounds like he has a point to make. He absolutely does not. The purpose of drama and the function of unlikeable characters within it is something that deserves a video essay. This episode is nothing more or less than a montage of obvious antiheroes played under a scattered collection of some of the dumbest soundbites a white man has ever patted himself on the back for saying (without ever even approaching making a point).

Heavy handed narration weakens it

This episode should have been great. The critic that narrated it could not resist imposing his values into the audience as if we share his perspective. Kept waiting for the narrator to let up but he could not get out of his own way.

But I don't like drew mcweeny 😆

I don't like this drew mcweeny. He seems to be so desperate to force his opinions on the audience... this is supposed to be a personal reflection and a discourse on the anti hero. He probably was so desperate to make people like him all throughout his life....this segment should be cut out of this whole series as it stands terribly.
