However, on a minute per minute basis, this DVD extra carries its 6 minutes, 31 seconds running time a little better than the 88 minutes, 22 seconds that must be consumed to view SMOKIN' ACES 2: ASSASSIN'S BALL in its entirety. This is sort of a sad commentary on SA2 producer Joe Carnahan's career trajectory, as its downward slope includes an even more recent misfire, 2010's THE A-TEAM. It would be more understandable if the writer\director of the supremely visceral adrenalin rush NARC (2002) was selling himself out for films making tons of dough at the box office, rather than associating himself with crass fare desperately praying for overseas revenue to turn a profit while disappearing as virtual direct-to-videos in the domestic market.
Perhaps the most instructive aspect of this particular SA2 "extra" is seeing and hearing co-writers Olatunde Osunsanmi and Olumide Odebunmi chime in. Clearly, you get what you pay for, as borne out by the reactions of the IMPARTIAL (that is, NOT cast or crew members, their friends or family) user reviews included on IMDb for the actual feature. No doubt, novice movie viewers who see SA2 as their first or second lifetime "action" flick (I'm not necessarily singling out the above mentioned gentlemen) may rate SA2 as a great and\or informative experience. Most everyone else will feel otherwise.
