The Fall
Though we'd never go so far as to say that familiarity breeds contempt when it comes to The Fall, it is true to say that the second series of Allan Cubitt's crime thriller lacked a little of the impact of the 2013 run.

Fans of BBC Two comedy Bellamy's People have launched a petition for the show's return after it failed to be recommissioned for a second series. The spoof celebrity travelogue spinoff of Radio 4's Down The Line from Charlie Higson and Paul Whitehouse stars Rhys Thomas and aired for eight episodes earlier this year. Confirming the cancellation of the show, Higson wrote on Twitter: "Have just heard that BBC in their wisdom have said no to 2nd series... So farewell then Bellamy's People. Silly tw*ts. It may sound wretched, but this comedy about an eco-friendly north pole trek provides some mild amusement, says Catherine Shoard
You'd be forgiven for flinching on sight of the gurning poster, or description of the giggle-free setup. But take heart: David L Williams's comedy is a notch more watchable than you might imagine. Stephen Mangan and Bellamy's People star Rhys Thomas are best friends who hatch a wacky plan to tackle the north pole in carbon neutral, veggie-friendly style, as part of a quarter-baked campaign to save the planet. This is gummy (if welcome) eco-film satire, then, but mostly just a vehicle for tent and crampon gags, and for Mangan to perfect his grating-dolt shtick.
