salen has to go...NOW!!!
darleneharvie23 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I can't be the only one who is *MEGA* sick and tired of salen. She pulled Morgan down to her level, by getting Morgan to do a low-cost eye surgery with only a 50% rate of improvement for the patient. And her cricket tacos, and roping Marcus into the bedroom - I'M OVER IT!!! Shaun and Alex had a difficult time with their patients and the donor heart. I'm glad that Asher finally opened the letter from his father, after talking to patient Brandon's Dad. Where was Jordan? And enough already with Aaron - is he out of the show or not? I can understand him taking time off, with that alien salen in charge of the hospital, and his divorce. But I *LOVE* Richard Schiff and hope his character stays on the show!

S5.E6 - Salen and her Circus [9/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S5. E6) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 6 ''One Heart''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Salen is ruining the show, I want her gone. Salen always talks about money, she doesn't care about the patients. Dr. Park wants this guy to die so he can take his heart and put it in that little boy? That's a bit macabre. This father talking to his dying son made me emotional. At least they found a heart for this dying child which is satisfying. Dr. Andrews and Salen together? Who had this awful idea? Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.

UNOS and organ donation misrepresented
jodieburma9 March 2022
I love this show and other medical dramas, and as a nurse, I overlook a lot of errors. This episode was an absolute affront to the gift of organ donation, and won't help encourage people to be donors. Under no circumstances would any doctor contact a potential transplant patient, even if they actually knew there was a donor available, and definitely not before confirming an available organ. We have UNOS for a reason, to provide a system for allocating donor organs. The show wants to give us entertaining drama, but the irresponsible way that they represented organ donation in this episode is very disappointing.

Please get rid of Salen
midire5 December 2021
Having brought in Salen's character has made this series not as enjoyable. I have a hard time watching any scene with her in it. Please write her off soon so the show can be great again.

Terrible planning
moov_e_c_er26 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There is no way a doctor would contact their patient and advise an organ is available before family consent was even asked for (let alone before obtained). There are rules and laws so a doctor cannot try and obtain an organ by any means (force, bullying, begging, showing their patients need, introducing them to their patient or their family, etc) from another doctor or directly from a patient or their family: they could have that patients doctor ask if patient is a donor and if not to ask for consent to donate. And one would especially never offer an organ to a patient who has literally lost out on organ once (let alone several times) without doing everything they can to secure such organ (asking if patient is a donor, asking family for consent, asking doctor of that patient for consent, asking UNOS to direct such organs to their patient and checking where that patient is on transplant list - all doctors are aware of all processes especially when such legal stipulations are in place to try and avoid black market organ transplants)

Just keeps getting worse...

Salen is an AWFUL character and is INCREDIBLY unbelievable. If she stays much longer, I'm out. She's ruining a once-great show. David shore tried this once before on House with Chi McBride. Fortunately, his stay was short. Hope Salen's stay is, too.

Going Overboard Scripting Unethical Behavior
jtan-5610423 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Withholding Proton Beam therapy from the patient with the optic nerve tumor would have been just as bad as the way they were allocating a patients organs for transplant when she still might have been saved if was plausible that they would have been able to obtain Proton Beam therapy equipment on short notice as they indicated. In reality they would have had to send the patient somewhere else for that. The equipment for that costs many millions of dollars and generally a new building needs to be constructed around it. Maybe the writers are trying to make points about the American medical system being corrupt but the types of things that are scripting now would cause doctors to lose their licenses.
