I very much enjoyed this movie. It starts with what could be the premise for a series of obvious jokes , but instead turns out to present a nuanced picture of a son and his relationship with his father , plus the difficult situation of an older professional woman , a midwife teacher , who finds herself fighting a bureaucratic and not always human system .
Though all three are well acted and presented , I was most struck by the presentation of the midwife student's father. His son assumes that he's an excessively macho sports fanatic with all the sexist prejudices we attribute to that type. But rhe son learns that there's a lot more to him than his massively muscular physique
