Lacing the show with Fbombs does not make it better
jeff-cossey16 January 2022
There's been way too much drama and way too little seal Team action.

I know the storyline has to progress but it seems like every episode is drama.

And now that we're on Paramount we can use FBombs to enrich the storyline.

Gimme a break.

Masterpiece

Maybe the best episode so far, absolute masterpiece. Loved the transition between calm and action scenes. Shows that characters can be emotional in this series, it is great to see their other side.

Bravo 1 is pain in the ass and so bad scripit

Warning: Spoilers
The show is getting worse. This last episode has so many holes, it's embarrassing! Out of nowhere they managed to place an ex-military who had PTSD conveniently close to where the Team is based. And the military has a miracle drug with no side effects to help Bravo 1.

After Clay and Sonny eliminate 2 gang members (and both were armed), Sonny takes a shotgun from one of the gang members and informs him that he only has 2 bullets, Clay who already had a revolver informs that he only has 3 bullets. But one of the gang members eliminated just 10 seconds earlier had a pistol in his hand, and the two SEALs didn't care because the script sucks this season. It's very evident that after the show went to Paramount, the creativity died and the script is getting more and more pathetic. The missions are getting dumber and dumber, little action, lots of drama and whining and Bravo 1 is just plain boring and whiny.

Good God. What has happened to Seal Team? I used to look forward to watching it. But now I only watch it in a vain hope it gets better before it ends. Honestly do not know how it will get another season. Jason tripping off cactus juice. Sonny doing lines of coke. Lisa with her head up her arse.

Paramount have done brilliant with Yellowsand 1883. With Seal Team, they've ruined it.

Shark Ramp Installed

I've watched this show from the beginning and always enjoyed it. The last year or so has been progressively more difficult to watch. The writers used to tell compelling stories laced with the challenges of military life. Recently, it's evolved it into a non-stop vehicle to preach. The only thing more excessive than the heavy-handed storylines are the chemically-enhanced physiques. The actor's heads artificially crane forward, their arms float awkwardly from the sides of their body unable to hang naturally, and their bellies bloat. This most recent episode had Sonny snorting cocaine and Jason tripping on a South American miracle plant for TBI. You've got to be kidding me. This is utter trash.

What happened to this show???
jlb237030 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The show started out about brotherhood and loyalty. Now it's just bickering and infighting with an occasional mission. And adding in a bunch of f-bombs made it worse, not better. And now they have Sonny robbing drug dealers and snorting coke, smh. This is a poor representation of this bunch of brave and honorable men.

Jumping the shark

Warning: Spoilers
With the move to Paramount+ the series has gotten grittier and better - until now.

While it's good that Jason finally confronts his TBI, after an aborted suicide attempt he goes off to be treated with psychedelics by a former US soldier who just happens to be in Columbia. While it's nice to see some old characters from the series during his trip, we're supposed to believe that this will rewire his brain. Yes, I know they're doing research on it, but it's all too convenient.

Meanwhile Sonny goes off and takes out drug gang members, steals their drugs and women, and goes on a bender partying. It takes Saint Clay to find him, sober him up, and then the two of them fight their way through the rest of the gang wanting revenge. It's just too much.

This episode had the feel of the second half of "Apocalypse Now" where they went far into the jungle away from command. Bravo without supervision on its Omega mission is falling apart and is dysfunctional, and yet we're supposed to believe that they can still take out a large covert Iranian nuclear bomb program being run in Venezuela.

The best part of this season was that it looked like the characters were permanently changing. The whole premise of the series is the personal collateral damage suffered by the best of us in defending our country. And yet with Jason's magic cure for TBI it looks like the series is going to put the team back together again like Humpty Dumpty just so we can see the further adventures of Bravo.

I hope the series can pull itself back from the edge.

Team Without a Country
Far_Out19 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This series became a joke years ago as one by one, the team's solidarity eroded. Countless times and eps their heads were nowhere near ready to operate. Basic mistrust has become the rule, not the exception.

Jason ignored orders (they all have at some point) and even lost his status, but is always forgiven. I have no problem believing they genuinely love each other. It is impossible to believe they can fight together.

TPTB needed to create some non-USN setting which would allow for the shenanigans we constantly see from Bravo. They came up with a doozy. The moment I most liked in this ep was when 6 chastised Sonny, reminding him of just how screwed they were without the cover of being USN. In other words, they all became Mandys.

Of all the ridiculousness, the one I think was the most absurd was Lisa first, actually getting access to ALL trucking manifests, and second, applying all the variables. The lady figures stuff out better than any human who ever lived. Riiiiight.

Shawn Hatosy is a fine actor. I wasn't buying his easy-going, tough as nails, guru act. His affect was much too militaristic. His raspy voice was a distraction.

I can hardly wait to see how Sonny manages to retain active status after this stunt. If 6 was having issues with Jason, he is now having explosions of doubt about Sonny. Then again, all is conveniently forgotten. Always.
