Richard Williams, Canadian animator and Oscar winning master animator, stars in this documentary about his life as an animator and the efforts of creating the greatest animated film never made 'The Thief and the Cobbler' although at that time, the movie was called 'The Thief who never gave up' It is a really inspired film, it shows Richard career as an animator, what he learned, his friendship with the master animators of the golden age who helped him on The Thief, and his own work, and how he progressed in the art of animation.
But it ends on a really sad ending if you know what happened to the film, it shows Richard's hopes for the future, him being optimistic about the future and that one day he will be able to finish his masterpiece, sadly, that dream turned on what we know now as 'Arabian Knight' and 'The Princess and the Cobbler'.
