It's about time...
robertjc-224 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Abigail's character has been way over due for expansion. It is about time, it's great the way she can handle Frank Reagan. In the same episode the commissioner handles the mayor brilliantly but Abigail controls the office and finally everyone knows.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda

Warning: Spoilers
Frank being offered another job is old hat but what would have really shaken up the dynamic is if he actually took it, brought his team along with him and have Erin elected DA. Then, after a few episodes where New York coincides with the new position Frank could see he's not cut out for a public sector position and either return to the PC slot or run for mayor himself. After 12 seasons the formula has become predictable and things need shaking up or risk further stagnation. On another note the Sean predicament was obvious from the start and the killer was easily guessed, too. The killer trope has been reused way too many times and there were no surprises or even much detective work needed. 6 out of 10 for a slight hope Frank was going to do something different.

Unsurprising

Warning: Spoilers
Given that this is a procedural drama, I expect a certain amount of storyline to stay constant. The only major change in the careers of the Reagans is Jamie getting promoted to Sergeant.

I expect Frank Reagan to stay as Commissioner until the show's end. So this why I knew what was going to happen when he's offered the position of VP of Security for the NFL.

Furthermore, whether Erin will be appointed the DA, or run for the job has also been recycled too many times.

The only thing that is surprising is that the new notion that having members of the same family being the PC and DA will "monopolize" law enforcement, as if their critics (eg: the Mayor, Governor Mendez, ACLU) will never think of that.

Just don't like Sean's acting

Warning: Spoilers
The episode was fine. A typical episode with a few different things going on. The NFL job thing was fine. My problem was with the whole Sean Reagan story. The acting was just not good. I cringe whenever he's on screen. I want the guy to be a good actor, but he just. Is. Not. I like this show, but maybe write him out or just keep him at the dinner table.

Disrespect
scntyguy19 February 2022
The entire family disrespects Danny when they gang up on him when Shawn lies and dies a ride along to a crime scene!!!

Tell me where is the open family live here! The ganged up on Danny at dinner and then Erin took it upon herself to wait until Danny left to give him a further lecture!

I guess after all these seasons it's difficult to come up with new thoughts, it's winding down, just gonna ride it to the end and try not to expect to much...
