Finally a good plot from the writers

Warning: Spoilers
This was probably the best story to date. I was a troubled youth but luckily never got sent to places like in this episode.

The ending was the best, it's what everyone should do instead of going to prison.

Favourite episode so far.
Poppycorn14419 August 2022
Two judges were just (August 2022) fined $288 million for doing exactly what the judge in this episode did, so far from being "woke" it's reality.

The system is corrupt and a good police show should show the truth while giving us hope that there are people working to change the awful reality.

This isn't new - cop shows have done this for over 50 years, it's just that now some people feel personally attacked because they're not actively campaigning and/or more than happy with the status quo.

No one is asking you to do anything but sit and watch a story with a beginning, middle and satisfying end.

Taken as that, this episode was good.

Who Talks Like That?
yohnny6 October 2021
Model-turned-actress Davalos delivers her lines as if sedated or somnambulant. Get that gal a hot cup of joe! Her scenes in uniform reminded me of the story about Heather Locklear's alleged hatred of the police outfit that she had to wear in "T. J. Hooker." Is that how genuine FBI agents converse?

"Talk amongst yourselves." ~ Linda Richman.

Better writing please. Fire Davalos please.
RoverGuy7 October 2021
As others have said, Davalos needs acting lessons. Surely they could have found some one better.

LaCroix says that the bad guy bought a gun with a credit card in West Virginia. The bad guy was only a teenager (17 I think), he would not have been legally allowed to purchase a gun. And if he bought via straw man purchase or illegally it would not have shown up on a credit card statement. Sheesh.

This show has gone down hill FAST.

what is the deal with the new girl?
Lythas_857 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Does she work after getting some sleeping pills or something?

Or is she trying to do a henry cavill's geralt voice?

A little bit more of background.. she has a daughter and a son.. she leaves the girl with the dad.. and apparently he already takes care of the boy.. guy seems cool, cares about her, tells her to be careful, she answers it aint like in the past that they were married and she got deployed... what kind of answer is that?

Like she went outside the wire and got blown up.. sure..

Case about boy that is able to abduct a judge and whip the dude until death.. because he considers the system corrupt.. okk..

boy gets arrested for tagging some wall.. 6 months, loses his graduation.. after leaving the joint, he started using drugs.. so i guess it is the judges fault now.. no accountability.

Boy killing everybody including the girl that helped him escape.. hmm i dont know.. but ok

davalos gets an apartment.. thanks to the ex.. their whole dynamic is weird.. and since she's got no time for social life and she is weird.. always like she is constipated or something, she definitely is going to bang the ex again.

I AM OUT
taharastar6 October 2021
Fantastic, gritty first 2 seasons, unrecognisable now in every way. The acting, actors, characters, story lines, focus, cinematography. Someone clearly thought they knew better and decided to change everything. The thing about when people stop watching they rarely come back, I am out, sadly.

Enough already
spikeluvr9 October 2021
I'm done watching the FBI series. They're off the rails with the constant drumbeat of law enforcement is bad and criminals are all victims. Do they expect viewers to sympathize with a psychopath who tortures his victims? The agents look at a stack of criminal histories and automatically assume they were all unjustly punished. And how stupid are FBI agents who have a car on video and don't think to read the license plate to identify the driver?

Way better than "Patriots", with a case of deja vu
tarwaterthomas17 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
So I just got through with the episode "Tough Love"; it starts with juvenile court judge Stuart Weaver getting murdered (he gives teenagers the strictest sentences ever), and since he was a federal weenie that means Jesse LaCroix and his team must investigate and get the perpetrator off the streets. In this case, it's a juvenile named Luke Hadley who did the deed after managing his escape from the Beech Mountain facility which is being run iron-fisted style by head warden Keith Saunders. It develops that Saunders has been getting kickbacks, as was the late Judge Weaver. Only after Judge Stuart Weaver got some extra bucks in his checking account he decided to be real strict in the sentencing. In the meantime, newly-arrived Kristin Gaines and her teenage daughter try to get themselves settled at an air-and-breakfast place, only to be kicked out. Well, Luke Hadley catches up with a moneybags named Eddie Geoff who had been bribing Weaver and Saunders. So if this episode gives you a feeling of deja vu, that's because there was an episode of LAW AND ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT with Swoosie Kurtz as corrupt family court judge Hilda Marsden who gave juveniles the most strict sentences ever and had them sent to a maximum security prison. This episode was way better than the previous episode "Patriots". Check it out and see for yourself. It's on YouTube TV if you missed it. Sometimes Dick Wolf does come up with an entertaining episode. I wish he did it all the time. That's all.

Shame on Hollywood.
dskaff6 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They could do a show about one crooked judge, but no...it has to be a corrupt system. There's nothing wrong with zero tolerance, but this judge was a bad apple. Does that mean he committed a crime? Yes. Does it mean that Hollywood has to infuse their whole W. O. K. E. philosophy into the episode. No! It's getting old real quick.

liked it

This episode was one of the better ones, shows how a corrupt system abuses kids and how psych's are really useless, pity the young man didn't get away, the one thing that worried me was the hunger for blood look on the FBI agents at the end when he was cornered, so real lfe unfortunately.
