Death and Other Details starts off promisingly enough. Mandy Patinkin is the plummy voiced Detective Rufus Cotesworth. His opening words ar details matter.

Some years earlier he came to the life of a little girl Imogene whose mother had been blown up in the car she was in. He promised that he would catch her mother's killer.

Many years later there lives collide on a luxury cruise. Rufus is now viewed as a has been. Imogene is bitter towards him. He never did find her mother's killer

She has grown up with the wealthy Collier family. They took Imogene in after her mother's death who used to work for them.

In this cruise where the Colliers hoped to seal a major investment deal. Keith Trubitsky a loud arrogant businessman is found dead.

Both Rufus and Imogene join up to find out who did it.

Death and Other Details looks like a part murder mystery and part pastiche of Agatha Christie type thrillers. If it was not for Patinkin I doubt I would last the full voyage of 10 episodes. Even from the first episode I can see this hitting choppy waters very soon.

a case about details

Warning: Spoilers
A really great first episode .

We have some interesting events .

I like the story between Rufus and Imogene and how it impact their present relationships .

Of course like all whodunnit genre we have a murder and a detective to solve it . We dont have any clue about who did this and why but we still have the investigations and that get pretty interesting quite fast .

But what it really interesting its about the case of Imogene's mother case and how Rufus drop the case without warning but we dont have all the details for now . Just it stopped and we have also the revelation that Rufus probably work with the victim as a new case ? Or is the Imogene's mother case is still open ? We dont really know

Pretty promising for now and need to see more to really have an opinion but i quite like what i saw for the moment and i hope it will continue like this : murder, mysteries, investigations, secrets between characters, sex (we had a few scenes that was pretty hot with the womens and that was the most sexy thing that i saw for a long time ) and love.

Need to see more.

Warning: Spoilers
I am kind of surprised by some of the low scores for this episode because I found it quite enjoyable.

It is completely over the top with the voice Mandy is doing for Rufus, but it works in this environment. A detective in the present day should not be taken so seriously, so this is changing things.

But they have me interested in these characters and a dynamic that will slowly but surely reveal more layers to their personalities and history.

Good start to Hulu and another series that I look forward to watching. There are not nearly enough of them on TV these days. The more mysteries the better.

Absolutely brilliant

So far, this show is amazing. It is exactly what I had hoped Death in the Nile would have been. I love this 1920's feel if it all. But still modern. It has the adventure and mystery if the movie murder in the orient express without the Tim Burton esque goofy detective.

The character are fresh and vibrant. And the hen you think you have one pegged, they totally flip the script but still staying in a storyline that you can follow. Well scripted. Great acting. Camera work and illusions are on point.

Filler to get 300 characters below Imogene Scott finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and becomes the prime suspect in a locked-room murder mystery; to prove her innocence, she must partner with a man she despises, Rufus Cotesworth, the world's greatest detective.
