Cast and crew members that attended the 'Spectre' Premiere of the Americas included cast members Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Dave Bautista, and Mexico's Stephanie Sigman; title song singer Sam Smith; and crew members director Sam Mendes, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, production designer Dennis Gassner, and MGM executives Jonathan Glickman and Gary Barber.
This movie's "Premiere of the Americas" was held in Mexico City, Mexico, on Monday, November 2, 2015, coinciding with the Mexican "Day of the Dead" festivities, which feature in the opening sequence. This is the first time that Mexico has hosted an international James Bond launch. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a statement: "We owe our magnificent Day of the Dead opening sequence, shot in Mexico City, to the expert craftsmanship of our wonderful British and Mexican crews. With 2015 being the Year of Culture between the U.K. and Mexico, it is fitting that the Premiere of the Americas will take place in Mexico City, on the actual Day of the Dead Festival."
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a joint prepared statement: "We owe our magnificent Day of the Dead opening sequence [in 'Spectre'], shot in Mexico City, to the expert craftsmanship of our wonderful British and Mexican crews. With 2015 being the Year of Mexico in the UK and the Year of the UK in Mexico, it is fitting that the Premiere of the Americas will take place in Mexico City."
The date of this gala premiere coincided with the real Day of the Dead festivities an event which is depicted in 'Spectre' (2015) during the film's opening sequence.
