Too bitty and complcated

I like devious, complex plot lines but this series was just too much. We were in Eritrea, Libya, Italy, Sweden, Finland and possibly other places that I shan't know about as I switched off halfway through the third episode. I just couldn't get into it. It was rather contrived - at one point a father just about to pick up his long-lost daughter from abroad gets busted and has to send a feckless crim along to find her instead.

There was a discrepancy between purported nationalities and the actors playing them. None of the actors seemed like someone from the Horn of Africa or around. Even the refugees meant to be from Syria barely looked the part either in their clothing, mannerisms or speech. It was a worrying anomaly that detracted from the enjoyment of the action,

I'm afraid that with these problems and the jittery script - it was as if it couldn't stand still - I simply had to give up. I just couldn't get into it. I had wanted to as the idea was a seductive one and could have been so interesting but I expect to be confused in the first episode only of a series. After that, everything should have fallen into place. Here it didn't. Just one example, in episode three, we suddenly cut to a dance school and a Finnish girl. We had no idea who she was until it came out that she was a villain's girlfriend and only introduced because her sister was studying medicine and could therefore tend to the villain's injured leg.

There were too many characters and too many places and not enough follow up of the main stories. It just went into dead ends. On another occasion, the brother of the injured lad meets an ex on the Stockholm ferry just by chance (yeah right) and they spend time together. What was it for? It didn't advance the plot at all.

I wanted so much to like this and I am sorry that I didn't.
