The first episode of Everything I Know About Love has a vibe of Sex in the City but not as funny or glib.
Maggie (Emma Appleton) is 24 year old and living a carefree life, one without much money and lots of booze and drugs. Her best friend is Birdy (Bel Powley) who she lives in a house with two others. It is left in the air as to how they can afford such a spacious accomodation in London.
On the train to London she meets a trendy hipster musician Street (Connor Finch) and they soon kiss at the train platform. They do not exchange numbers as Maggie tells him, if they bump into each other again, they were destined to meet.
This is one the shows you find difficult to relate to the characters. Even the 'losers' are good looking slim characters. Birdy has trouble attracting men. Street's flatmate, a fit marathon runner is dull. Both of them could be leads in their own romantic comedy.
My wife liked it more than I did. Even she had to acknowledge the blithe existence that these characters live.
