Great Fun - No Frills
discomickeymouse15 September 2021
This is a theatrical collection of 5 Golden Girls episodes from the first three seasons; the first episode, the one where they all get the flu, the one where you see how they all met, the one where they are arrested for prostitution and the one where they go on a game show. Great fun to see these beloved shows in the theater, the picture and sound quality was great considering you're watching 36 year old videotape. My only complaints is the bare bones presentation, no retrospective or host or behind the scenes...just 5 episodes back to back. Still fun though and one of the best sitcoms of all time!!!

The Golden Girls on The Silver Screen

This was a great collection of some of the best of the girls. What's not to love. However It's time to remaster The Golden Girls the current prints look grainy on the small screen and that look even worse on the big screen. It would have been a nice touch to begin the presentation with a nod to the passing of Betty White the last of the girls. Maybe end the presentation with interviews with some of the surviving guest stars and supporting actors.

What a treasure!

I seem to have seen a different version of "Golden Forever" from other reviewers here but it doesn't matter. I howled out loud any way. My version had six episodes: "The Competition", "It's a Miserable Life", "The Sisters", "Scared Straight", "Sister of the Bride", and "The Case of the Libertine Belle".

Many of Sophia's one-liners were hilarious as were any jokes made at Blanche's expense. It was wonderful to relive that time period when the show was a regular series from 1985-1992. The quartet was brilliant as were the writers. May we always have access to these amazing shows.
