As part of operation Paperclip the United States Army recovered prototypes a previously unknown Nazi jet fighter designed to fulfill Georing's 3 X 1000 requirement. The British also recovered glider versions. It was later discovered that earlier prototypes had flown but were destroyed in crashes.

Reba Zitella Whittle was a American flight nurse in World War Two. Flight nurses were in command of medical evacuation flights from war zones. As the C-47s were used for both military and medical missions they did not carry Red Cross insignia, hence several were shot down including Reba's last flight. She was captured by the German's, treated for injuries, politely interrogated and assigned to Stalag IX-C to help treat injured POWs. But, as their only female POW the German's found it more convenient to repatriate her four months later.

Flintenweiber is a derogatory term used for female Soviet soldiers by the German Army. Their treatment is yet another atrocity on the list of German Army war crimes. Tens of thousands of these women were captured, many summarily executed under orders of the various field marshals. Many of these were sexually abused before execution. Other female Soviet soldiers committed suicide to avoid falling into German hands.

After the fall of Nazi Germany the Allies were determined to cleanse Germany of Nazi imagery and ideology. They were for the large part successful in removing physical images from buildings right down to uniforms and street names. But Germany was largely operated by Nazis and removing them would have greatly hindered the German recovery.

Given a choice between Stalin's communism and Hitler's Naziism many people in the eastern Soviet republics viewed the invading German's as liberators during World War Two and the German military recruited troops from among them to fight for the Third Reich. This backfired on several occasions as the foreign troops eventually deserted and joined resistance forces.

The current (2022) leader of Russia, Vladamir Putin, joined the Soviet Communist Party and KGB right out of college. He spent his entire career in the KGB, serving much of it in Germany in part supporting the Red Army Faction terrorist group, until the collapse of the Soviet Union when he, and many of his cohorts, transitioned into politics.

For high ranking Nazi leaders armored personal trains were pretty much standard. Presented here are the details of Göring's train, and other vanities, which included cars for antiaircraft guns, security forces, communication, office, dining and personal use. Befitting Göring's tastes, cars he used were luxurious.
