Storyline
At ISIS, an international spy agency, global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. At the center of it all is suave master spy Sterling Archer, whose less-than-masculine code name is "Duchess." Archer works with his domineering mother Malory, who also is his boss. He also has to deal with his ex-girlfriend, Agent Lana Kane and her new boyfriend, ISIS comptroller Cyril Figgis, as well as Malory's lovesick secretary, Cheryl. Written by

Trivia
One of the major plot lines in the series involves the the identity of Archer's father. Archer grew up believing that his father was a war hero named "John Fitzgerald Archer"; various events in season one suggest that his father may be Maj. Nikolai Jakov of the KGB, Len Drexler of rival spy agency ODIN, or band leader Buddy Rich (although Malory is pretty sure it's either Jakov or Drexler). She later mentions a fourth possibility in the 3rd season.

In only 22 minutes, Archer gets away with referencing dirty sex every scene, showing off the backside of a woman with the sting of a ping pong paddle still red, and being a very funny, witty new show! It gets away with them because it is funny and also happens to be animated. The animation really works with the style of the show.
Who said comedy is best when it's offending at least one body of people? There's something for everyone to love in this show and probably something for everyone to hate in this show. The first episode I saw last night was very promising. I haven't seen a quirkier show in a long time. It really moves to the beat of its own drum. The pace is very fast and what struck me was, besides the absurd situations and hilarious dialog, the basic plot line has actually been very coherent and interesting.
Don't miss this show. It's got a lot going for it.
