- Genya is called by the Darkling to try and heal him. She begins to heal the scars on his face, which irritate his shadow monsters. He tells her to try his hand, where the link was with Alina. As she begins to do so, the shadow monsters grow massive and angry. They nearly attack Genya. She is shown visibly terrified, leaves the room, and has a breakdown. The Darkling says her room will now be close to his, and he wants her kept close to him.
- A masked killer attacks Inej. While attacking, he taunts her sexually by smelling her hair and telling her she will return to the menagerie without much damage for her buyer. He makes multiple cuts while she tries to fight back.
