It's actually quite hard to express how stupid this story is quickly becoming; there's revealed to be a mole working within the organisation & nobody thinks to consider the newbie who's very recently lost a loved one & thus, has a personal, emotional incentive to cause the havoc which is suddenly unfolding? Some of the cleverest people in the country are recruited to be a part of "The Lazarus Project" & none - NOT ONE - of the agents thinks it peculiar that soon after suffering a bereavement, the protagonist is off on random, unannounced military excursions in Romania, accusing a trusted colleague of being a spy in the middle of a suspicious car chase - which is coincidentally the exact same narrative being fed to them by the antagonist - as if they could potentially be co-conspirators? Furthermore, everyone's already aware of how damaging grief can be (if someone experiences a preventable death with the ability to change it) - since it led to the vilification of 2 of their most promising operatives in 2018 - & yet that's seemingly forgotten about... Literally zero involved are cognitively capable of putting 2 + 2 together to make 4?
Moreover, when the tech guy is killed, there's no fail-safe in the software to allow immediate access to his computer? This is an intelligence service which operates on a higher level than MI5 & they only have one tech person on shift at a time? Plus, when the prisoner makes an accusation of betrayal within the ranks, the manager automatically moves to negotiations - which involves entertaining the possibility of his release - without even considering using their combined intellect to figure out who the back-stabber is, without his assistance? I mean, the answer isn't exactly surprising or subtle (with his erratic behaviour) so... Are they really supposed to be taken seriously when they're being portrayed as so gullible & moronic? If these are the brightest minds in Britain, then god help us. No wonder the world needs saving as often as it does, if they can't realise who benefits from another catalysm.
They're not the only idiots; the police are pursuing George in a stolen vehicle & before attempting an arrest, the officer never stops to radio in to call for reinforcements / give a description of the assailant or the body in the boot?
Even the man supposed to be guarding the bomb is ridiculous... A stranger shows up at this top secret location, doesn't fit in with his perception of the group, asks too many questions, doesn't have any money & seems oblivious to the arrangements or the agreement... And he's being held at gunpoint but instead of shooting him, he takes him to the depot to see the nuclear warhead anyway because... Plot? That doesn't raise alarm bells or strike either side as odd? Huh?
