Enthusiastic delivery is a gift to all who want to listen and learn
jgkeszler9 June 2021
Some suggest smugness. Another explanation may be that Mr. Cox is so thrilled to know and to be able to share, to teach, his knowing. Knowledge has nothing to do with the length or even the presence of hair but from what lies underneath it. Mr. Cox, and so many other men and women through the ages, have distinct styles of communicating their knowledge. We should all be grateful that they make the concerted efforts that they have by spending the better part of their lifetimes trying to enlighten the rest of us. Maybe, just maybe, their unique methods can empower us to find the ability to share in the joy of knowledge as they do, with a childlike wonder and enthusiasm that we could all be better for. Teaching is a rare and precious gift that too few appreciate while fewer still are any good at. Criticizing a teacher for their passion or their hair? That demonstrates more than this comment allows for. Mr. Cox and his colleagues deserve our thanks on scales that match the timeless concepts which they strive to convey to us.

Brian Cox... revisited.
ferzal21 June 2021
I'm a Prof. Cox fan. Unashamedly. We're looking at the man handpicked by King David to continue the natural history/science tradition of excellence at the BBC which is simply in a class of its own. There is no second place in this category thanks to the pioneering work of Sir David Attenborough.

The content must live up to the standard that these presenters need to use their enthusiasm and real-world familiarity to impart their knowledge effectively.

In this case it's good material but it's not a truly, planned story. Perhaps we've got COVID-19 to thank for this but it's a kind of "best of" with a tale spun around it.

If you're new to Brian Cox and his world jump right in. It's a 9. If you've seen it all before then it's not going give you what you've been waiting for - a NEW adventure.

Is it worth a look though? Well it's Prince Brian so indeed it is. Without question.

OH THANK YOU BRIAN, KEEP ON DESPITE THE CRITICS

By serendipity, I have just recorded episode three on my PVR - not seen it yet - but value it above gold. Episode 4 programmed to record.

Australia's ABC-TV actually broadcast it at midnight. Friday morning. On ABC2-Kids/TVPlus, a channel that few watch, and at midnight?

Australia's pay TV seem to have ceased broadcasting science shows, but I need Brian's voice to inform me and sooth me in the current situation.

Lovely

Brian Cox's sandcastle
brians-1090023 June 2021
Disappointed to see in program 4/4 of series that when Brian but a union flag on the sandcastle he made, it was upside dow.

This is an insult to the crown.

Probably a cheap Chinese import.
