I enjoyed this film very much, the character of Jimmy remind me of my own forgotten childhood in France. The story begin in London and we see the mother is not fit to look after him and he is sent by social worker to live with the grandparent in the Channel Island. The grandparent don't know about him. The relationship with the grandfather is hard. The grandfather don't want to know Jimmy. He also never forgiven his daughter but we do not know why. There are memories from the past haunting him. These memories are from the time of the occupation of jersey, when the Germans are there during second world war. I would have like to see more of this. The film could have done flashback to this time to make more sense of the back story. I think they have not enough budget. The film is a landscape, a moment of vacancy or sun. The island of Jersey is very beautiful. I would like to see Imaginary Summer 2.
