The best finale of the show

They gave what season 1 and season 2 finale couldn't. This show is underrated and deserves more attention!

I love the characters the ending and basically everything about it.

YES, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR

FINALLY!!! We are getting what we were promised on the s01 finale when Mr. Nobody said this was a superhero show! I can't believe it took three whole seasons for the characters to finally get together and become the team we were promised from the start.

And I swear to g-d if they get amnesia on s04e01 and we get back to where the characters were mentally at the start of the show I will commit crimes against the writers.

And lastly, a budget increase would be really helpful for the VFX, because no show in 2022 should have shrek-level CGI, although I'm sure everyone on the special effects team did their best given the current budget of the show.

Overall, GREAT episode that shows a lot of promise for season 4! I'm super pumped!!

The Season Finale We Needed

Warning: Spoilers
This third season really built up to a payoff of the first two seasons. The team is now ready to embrace their super weirdness. I love the addition of Michelle Gomez as Madame Rouge to the team. Consistently funny and consistently character-driven. I was most caught up in Cliff's story. It will be interesting to see how he will evolve next season. I sure hope we get a next season.

"THAT" was the season finale??
jp757019 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Since the season 2 finale was interrupted by COVID (and never truly happened in season 2), I was hoping for something a bit more, you know, final. Doom Patrol, of course, has always gone on interesting (and sometimes weird) tangents mid-season, but at the end of season 3, not much is really resolved. Let's take it character by character:

* * *WARNING - SPOILERS FOLLOW* * *

Rita - while she grow into her role as a "super-hero", in the last episode she literally grows. While it may make some sense, how did Rita all of a sudden become a giant version of herself? She never showed that ability before. And why did her clothing also become giant-sized? (Yes, censors are involved, but this is pay streaming.)

Vic - he voluntarily gives up his Cyborg abilities, so how is he an asset to the team in the end, when they go off to the Suez Canal to fight a giant monster? What exactly can he do without his cybernetics? That is a big question that has to be addressed in season 4.

Larry - now that he has merged (or whatever) with the "space parasite", his abilities seemed useless. He flew for a few feet then fell and was presumably knocked out. Season 4 will have to deal with his new powers, if there are any.

Jane - If she made a deal to give up being prime, then she doesn't bring anything to the table. Another powerless patrol member.

Cliff - At the end of season 3, his old body (which had been occupied by another brain) was pancaked by a giant robot that now has Cliff's brain inside. Will liff remain a 50-foot tall robot now? How does that even work with the rest of the team?

Time travel - now that the Doom Patrol possess a time machine, will they use it to undo all of the above in season 4? Bring back Niles Calder? Get CLiff's Cyborg body back? Who knows?

The ending to season 3 seemed like the show runners ran out of ideas. If this was meant to be a cliffhanger, it failed. I know others enjoyed it, but to me, it raised more questions than it answered.
