I think this episode is definitely better than first by a mile, but it's still got 4 or 5 miles to reach HIMYM.

I'm beginning to care a tiny bit about the characters but not nearly as fast as HIMYM. I think the story is still a lil all over (not nearly as jarring as the pilot), but what's important is the humor can hit sometimes like it's predecessor and the music selection is good like HIMYM as well.

We will see.

After watching the entire series of HIMYM 4 times, this episode does capture the essence of original. I agree the pilot was a little lackluster and forced but this definitely captures the different personalities of the characters. Walking into this show with very low expectations, I was very surprised on how this episode turned out. Very hopeful.

A big improvement from the pilot. A clear storyline, some laughs thrown in, but this just feels too dated. It feels like an outdated multi-cam show trying to fit into a current environment.

Good episode. Really like that British guy and his vibes. But still not into that ted mosby wannabe.

And, is the old lady from 2050 gonna appear in every episode? Just go on with the storyline without her narrowing.

So Valentina is the worst character of the show.

This are going to quickly, i would Sophie want to date a guy that she meet 2 times?

I would charlie even want Valentina again after she was a dick to him, 2 times in 2 episodes?

Cleary Valentina is Marshall and Sophie is Ted.... Valentina says that she doesnt want to be "told" want to do just to the next scene be completed different. I really dont see this series getting pick up for a second season.

Charlie is by far the best character on the show. Sid is also cool and Ellen can become the best character on show.

FOMO

The pilot episode of a show has to do an awful lot, and what with this being a spin-off/sequel series it had to do a little bit more. It didn't all work, it was a bit clunky, but the promise/potential was there.

This second outing builds on the potential, but doesn't solve all the problems that were there for all to see in the first.

There's still too many characters, it still feels like Sophie is just the straight character to all the funnier ones around her, and the characters do still feel like standard sitcom tropes we've seen before elsewhere and done better.

However, I repeat that there is potential here, and when the show slows down and relaxes those are clear to see.

Horrible, ridiculous, gross, shameful was "better" than the pilot and even so it's still bad this reboot is a real shame for others! Makes me want to vomit.

A Base To Go Off Of

To start, I'm one of the biggest HIMYM fans there is, I've watched the series countless times. When I heard they're making this show, I was very worried. But the first two episodes have impressed me, the formula is there, there is a chemistry in the cast that I can feel (Except the adopted sister? Feels like she was added late in the writing and kind of thrown in without a life raft). With all of the characters in the show, there's something to go off of at least, a solid chemistry between the cast, the HIMYM formula, relationships within the group. I'm hopeful, not getting my hopes high at all, but I do think that this could be good.

Just no.still not happening for me going to stick it out for a few more episodes but it's almost painful to watch it's so cringey. The main male actor and hilarity would be better if they were comfortable in their roles but the bonding and friendship aspect of how I met your mother is completely in organic in how I met your father. Not to mention the women who plays older Hilary she's so annoying.

It looks better after the second episode. I really like Sophie, Charlie and Valentina characters so far. Hope it will get even better. Of course it's different than HIMYM, but now there are different times :D. Hope it'll get better and we'll get more seasons of it.

Why a new bar having McLarens on the first floor?!

True form to the original after a "necessary" pilot

Following a seriously rushed pilot to introduce the characters in the span of 25 minutes as a necessary crutch to launch the characters into their shenanigans with some context, this episode shows the potential the show has while naturally introducing the "2022-ness" to the formula and giving the characters some comic identity. If they stay true to the format of the original (non-linear storytelling, flashbacks, a strong couple like Lily and Marshall and a dominant boisterous character like Barney) I will keep watching, and hoping Pamela Fryman directs more episodes.

I liked the pilot, some quirks, but that happens. HIMYM is my favorite show and I'm so looking forward to this show on its own. Im so happy with it. We don't have a lot of sitcoms anymore so this is a good revival. Hilary is A+ and I love Kim Catrall and the fact we don't know what her son looks like yet. Inclusion is there, but not forced like some shows.

second chances

I thought the first episode was just 'okay', but now i got totally embraced by the characters, i think it's because we don't know only the dad, but we are actually seein their friendship being built.

Himym showed us the gang and robin becoming part of it. Now, we're seeing another plot involving strangers beeing awesome together.

I feel like it misses a character like Barney that carries the show. Also, there are way to many characters for the main cast. But it has potential and I'll keep watching to see where it goes.

Hilary duff and the whole cast are even more likeable than the original cast!!! This was soooo much better than I thought it would be, and my hopes were pretty high! Amazing!
