Just as she begins getting over her husband Sasa's death, Ana receives a video showing him alive. Meanwhile, a young hacker visits Inspector Srtbac with new evidence about a murder no one remembers or can find any trace of.
After the young hacker is found hanged, Strbac suspects it wasn't suicide but finds his investigation impeded by someone from within the police. Ana starts looking into Sasa and finds out she didn't know her husband at all.
While Ana looks into the fire that killed her husband, Strbac searches for his colleague who just happened to take sick leave on the same day Strbac re-opened the Natasa Vranjes case.
Ana travels to Croatia, visiting the place where the video of Sasa was recorded, and meets his former business partner who still holds a million euro grudge. Strbac's daughter visits with her girlfriend.
Strbac's missing colleague returns with a cancer diagnosis, Ana applies for an exhumation order, and an anonymous tip-off leads the police to an unmarked grave.
When a key piece of evidence goes missing, Strbac identifies the corrupt police officers working against him. Ana plans to move to Vienna with her son but her mother-in-law will go to any length to prevent this.
On the orders of her mother-in-law, Ana is imprisoned in a mental hospital. While there, she remembers how she met Sasa, the horrible abuse she suffered as a child, and why she was at the club on the night of the fire.
Strbac goes rogue after helping Ana escape from the hospital. She teams up with her boyfriend, Ivan, to find out why Sasa was locked up. The discovery makes her all the more determined to get her son back from Suzana.
Ana remembers what happened on the night of the fire. Viktor gives Suzana the supposedly lost CCTV footage from the club. Strbac plans to retrieve Ana's son from Suzana but receives an unwanted visitor.
