This episode of "World in Action" consists of Quentin Crisp sitting in his shabby little flat talking about whatever seemed to come into his mind. The film seems to have little in the way of structure or theme and are just the mostly random musings of this VERY eccentric author and misanthrope. Despite the odd structure, Crisp IS engaging...and I think most of it is because he seems to delight in saying things to shock. And, most shocking is his being somewhat homophobic in a sense because he has always been so flamboyantly gay.
His musings are often very odd...and it's not surprising that soon after the success of some of his books as well as the release of the film "The Naked Civil Servant" (based on Crisp's book of the same name, starring John Hurt) he became a professional raconteur. He would travel the country giving talks and was very successful.
Overall, an odd little show with a man who is anything but stereotypical in his manners and way of thinking and expressing himself. Very engaging despite, or, because of this! An eccentric's eccentric to say the least!
