The television studio sequence was filmed at TV3, a local cable station in Portland, Maine.
All of Kyle Rankin's scenes were filmed in one hour at the (then) Portland Mayor's Office. The office was not located at City Hall, but at the Casco Bay Island Ferry Terminal.
Composer Jeff Cusack created the scores for three of the stories: The Story of Charles, When the Day's Done, and The Box Cottage.
The two radio hosts heard in the opening and closing of the film were real disc jockey's at the time. Mark Persky and Brett Slater were the morning show hosts for Portland's Classic Rock station WBLM 102.9.
