This is a weekly documentary which covers a different topic about Japans culture and history each week. Presented and narrated by Peter Barakan, every episode is full of information and delves deep into every nook and cranny (or as much as it can do in 30 minutes) of the subject matter. Not only is it informative but it is also very engaging and I found myself drinking less cups of tea because I would rather wait until it had finished than pause it. It is one of the best documentary series I have seen in a long time, so if you have any interest in Japan and its culture then you owe it to yourself to check it out. 10/10

It is one of kind series. It covers nearly everything about Japanese life in a way you will never be able to cover yourself. The series brings you to places you would like to visit, but probably never will. It teaches you about daily life and the history of it. I used to watch a series called Soko Ga Shiritai (presented in Japanese with English subtitles) which is from the 80's. This series now is up to date. A must for Japen-lovers! Everything from rice to sushi, samurai swords to kitchen-knives, festivals, party's, daily life, dances, Buildings, technology, crazy Japanese ways of doing things. It is fun to watch. Each episode is about 30 minutes long and it brings Japan to your home.
