- It's M.O.D.O.K.'s first weekend with the kids in his new crummy apartment. They decide to attend GRUMBL's Leadership Conference at an island resort where Melissa gives her father a lesson in gas-lighting people.
- M.O.D.O.K. is invited to be the guest of honor at a GRUMBL leadership conference. Since he has Lou and Mel for the weekend, he takes them along as well. While Lou enjoys the hotel room amenities, M.O.D.O.K. discovers that the entire thing is a ploy by Austin, and relies on Mel's social advice to avoid humiliating himself and gain the upper hand.—Gislef
- MODOK wakes up from his dream of conquering the world, and realizes it's his first week with the kids. Four hours later, MODOK is still cleaning the dump so Jodie doesn't realize how bad he's fallen. Jodie and the kids arrive, and Lou is impressed by the dark hallways and "Murphy elements". Mel begs Jodie to take her with her, but Jodie explains that she has to promote her new self-help book. She quickly leaves, and gunshots ring out nearby.
MODOK makes dinner for the kids, and explains his plans to take them to a library to read up on water treatment plants, then five hours of dedicated rat-catching time. A hologram of Austin appears and Austin figures that MODOK is in a poverty escape room. He invites MODOK to the GRUMBL leadership conference at an island resort. He tells MODOK that he's the guest of honor, and should bring his kids. Modok decides to go when sees Lou fighting with the rats.
Later, the trio arrive at the island. Mel isn't impressed but Lou is. MODOK makes sure to tell the concierge his name and its spelling, and Lou is impressed but Mel isn't. When MODOK wonders if Mel doesn't want to be there, she reminds him that she's been telling him that repeatedly. However, she goes with her father rather than spend time with Lou testing the sheets with his naked body.
Mel is impressed with the big wigs there, and notices the shadowy board of GRUMBL watching from an observation booth overhead. Austin comes over and tells MODOK that the presentation is about to begin, and MODOK assures him that he's ready.
Tony Stark as Iron Man, via hologram, gives the introduction. Tony makes that despite what GRUMBL paid him, he doesn't endorse their activities. Once the hologram fades out, Austin introduces MODOK. When MODOK comes, Austin says that he's giving the leadership address Austin tells MODOK that he's there to learn leadership, and they're honored to see MODOK improve. Everyone laughs at MODOK, and MODOK goes back to his table Mel is snickering at him. The concierge comes in and tells MODOK that he can't use the hot tub because he had diarrhea in the last 14 days, saying it loudly enough that everyone can hear him.
Mm rants about how he's going to raise a volcano and get his revenge on everyone. Mel tells her father that everyone is trying to make MODOK throw a fit and act out in front of the board. She figures Austin set up the whole thing and it's like what she would pull. MODOK asks Mel for help, and she agrees as long as she doesn't have to spend weekends at MODOK's place, and MODOK has to do whatever she says. MODOK agrees, and Mel says that they have to undo what just happened by playing nice with people.
A man comes over and invites MODOK to play horse golf with them the ne4t day. MODOK starts to lose his temper, but Mel accepts for her father. The next day, MODOK and Mel join the three executives on the golf course. MODOK introduces Mel as his caddy and his daughter, and Mel tells MODOK to not worry about playing well, but figuring out the others' weaknesses and how to use them against them to make them crave MODOK's approval
Mel figures out that one of the executives lost weight recently, and tells MODOK to compliment the other two on how trim they look. MODOK does, and breaks down the others with Mel's advice, and soon they're sucking up to MODOK. They invite him to their party later.
Lou has everything he can brought to the room, on Master Pandemonium's TV morning talk show talking about her book.
MODOK and Mel go to the party together, and MODOK discover that a rerun of Stark's hologram is the featured speaker. MODOK loses his temper and blasts the announcement sign, and Mel tells him that now he's playing the long game so he can't just blast his troubles away. Austin comes in to cheers and Mel chases down a tray of appetizers. MODOK decides to go with a quick, splashy plan to make everyone love him. He figures that if a crisis happens, he could rescue everyone and asset himself as a leader. He uses his portal device and picks Broodworld.
Back at the party, Mel figures that MODOK is using an unapproved plan. The Ciegrimite comes through instead of the Brood, ready to party. They're a race of brewmasters and hedonists, and they use their contact goo to make everyone want to party with them. MODOK tries to take credit for bringing the Ciegrimites there, and Mel is unhappy that MODOK ignored her advice and lied to her about it. She leaves, and MODOK goes to "lead" the party.
MODOK goes through the portal to recover a beach ball, and finds himself of Broodworld. One Brood is there, exhausted, and tells MODOK that the Ciegrimite never tire and never stop partying. Eventually every other living thing dies, and then the Brood dies of exhaustion. MODOK goes back to the party and sees the Ciegrimite piling up bodies. The board doesn't like the party where everyone is dying, and MODOK blasts the Ciegrimite. Their shells protect them from MODOK's brain blasts.
Mel is getting a facial, and MODOK calls her and says that the Ciegrimite are partying everyone to death and he doesn't know what to do. Mel's reply telling him what to do is filled with expletives, and then hangs up on her father. MODOK creates a simulacrum of Mel's consciousness with his computer brain, and he uses her talent for spotting social weaknesses to learn the Ciegrimites need to be the wildest. Since they all have that desire, MODOK figures that makes them competitive. He convinces them to all remove their shells rather than play it safe, and then blasts them to pieces.
Latter, when MODOK, Lou, and Mel checkout, the concierge loudly apologies for not being able to remove the restriction on pornography on the business center computer. While the concierge gets MODOK the bill, MODOK thanks Mel for teaching him her technique Mel still isn't happy, and MODOK determines that Mel wants his approval... and hates herself for wanting it. He doesn't say anything except that they should all go home.
Later back at home, MODOK's kids prepare to go home. MODOK tells Mel that he won't hold her to their deal but had fun with her at horse golf. Mel agrees but insists on sticking to the deal and not coming back. MODOK figures that getting Mel's love is the long game.
At the island, Austin tells the board that they gained MODOK's planetary portal and MODOK suspects nothing. The board are aliens, and figure that MODOK's usefulness will soon end.
