It is not often that I find a show that gives me quite a physical reaction like this one right here. In my opinion this is the best in the series, although there are many that are almost as good as this. The pacing of this episode gives the big reveal (no spoilers) so much more weight. Up until this point it felt like the show was pulling punches, even when discussing child suicide and darker topics of the sort. It seemed to be approaching them in an easily digestible, dramatized fashion similar to how a teenager would see the world. But when this episode hits it's high point it strikes with the full force of a freight train. I had to pause the show to take a breath because of how shocked I was. It's a moment that makes total sense in context but still can take you by surprise since you already expect you're seeing the most dark it can get. In a way, the topic of suicide is easier for me to digest than this. It's something not easy to watch but vital and necessary for the show to grow. I'm stunned.
