This is Red Skelton's second all-pantomime appearance before the United Nations. The first was in January 1960. Classic highlights include a girl getting dressed in the morning, a little boy with a slingshot shooting a sparrow, an astronaut walking in space (that has a dramatic touch), 'The Piano Recital', a balloon salesman and a little boy, a determined American tourist climbing the Eiffel Tower, a frustrated fisherman watching a kid reel in the big one, Red and David Sharpe's interpretation of a pair of nasty neighbors, and Red and Chanin Hale appearing as a fickle rooster and his wistful hen. The program closed with Red's poignant 'Old Man Watching a Parade', a sketch dedicated to his late son, Richard.
The title refers to the United Nations that was set up by the Allied Powers after World War II to mediate international disputes and to promote peace throughout the world.
