Maggie (Sharon Gless), wacky secretary at the detective firm of MacBride (Eddie Albert) and Ryan (Robert Wagner) is in love. With a guy who did time with Pete and who now runs crooked card games.
Lover-boy is in the middle of a bad rap on passing counterfeit money, and the boys feel obliged to get him out of it for Maggie' sake. And all he'll owe them is, when it's all over to tell her the truth about who he really is. That, or go to the Pen for a crime he didn't commit.
A touch of the humor we associate with this show. A few double-switches. A few head scratchers (where'd the funny money go?)
But for a series that started out so well, its slide into a run-of-the mill detective program is inevitable. And a huggy ending. Too bad. It's still better than most detective stuff, but won't be for long.
