In a universe bound by chains, join the heroic crew of the starship Enterprise-D in an epic journey that takes them into the darkest depths of the Romulan Neutral Zone. The sudden disappearance of Captain Jean-Luc Picard causes implications that could resonate across the entire Alpha Quadrant. Commander William Riker must take command of the Enterprise, and guide his crew through a treacherous web of lies and betrayal that surround this untimely death. Due to the recent mind-meld they shared together, Ambassador Spock is sent to investigate Picard's disappearance, undermining a shattered Riker. Spock wastes no time in polarizing the crew, searching through personnel logs, and making accusations. Suspicions of conspiracy as to what may be happening behind closed doors on board the Enterprise, and beyond, upsets the balance of power. The presence of Ambassador Spock on the Federation flagship initiates a chain reaction – that ultimately envelops the Klingons, Romulans, and even Starfleet's highest ranking officials. Will these chains of betrayal ever be broken?
