Great and informative film about the history of the middle east conflict
grantmasterflash17 June 2009
Months after NFFTY ended I still think about this film. What I really want is a playable version online so I could share it with others that were not able to attend the National Film Festival for Talented Youth.

In three days I saw 71 films at NFFTY and this is the one I think about. I've googled for it and only found this entry. Having it on a video streaming site would increase the creators exposure and only result to great things.

The film starts out with the Jewish man ordering Hummus and the waitress delivering it to the Palestinian. The rest of the film plays out the history of the conflict between Israel and Palestine over the area of Hamas. There's a lot of history in there including America and Brittan's involvement. In a somewhat humorous manner it's also very informative and educational.

I loved it.

Warning: Spoilers
From the opening music, I was looking forward to seeing what was going to go a rye. I loved every frame. So cleverly conceived, acted and shot. Tightly edited and enjoyed the end punctuation/ The filmmakers had a great deal to say and loved the tone in which they said it. A clever and thoughtful allegory for the current (and perennial) conflict in the Middle East, the film shows both how silly and how appalling the conflict can be. It's a smart idea.

It is cleanly shot and very well done. The performances here are wonderfully funny. These actors made the movie believable with their humor & commitment. A very original concept told cleanly and with confidence. Clever and smart, with great details and a nuanced script. The camera look was great with a variety of good shoots. Very seamless editing.

Overall, this is an extremely accomplished, engaging, and profoundly smart and witty film.
