Familiar faces

I know he is a bad guy, but Oscar is such fun. You can't trust anything he says, or him for that matter, for a millisecond. And yet I get such a kick out of him.

It was also enjoyable to see Molly C. Quinn, Nathan Fillion's daughter Alexis on "Castle", portraying a different type of character. I hope that both of them will be recurring on "The Rookie".

Blood Ties
claudio_carvalho27 October 2021
When the son of Judge William Abassi is kidnapped, Lopez assumes the case and based on the available DNA, a daughter of Oscar Hutchinson may be the criminal. Nolan and Harper help her to interview the criminal and they make arrangement to meet every woman that might be the mother. Meanwhile, Bradford and Chen chase the tagger 3Eyez that has returned after ten years causing troubles to Bradford. Commander Percy West and Sgt. Grey are disputing the future career of Jackson West, dissatisfying him.

"Bad Blood" is finally a good episode of "The Rookie" after so many failures. The tagger segment has a corny conclusion but is funny. Hutchinson returns and this character is really very funny. Officer West finally takes a decision in his life without the influence of his father. My vote is eight.

Okey,
Seems like the five deep.down episodes have ended, and in sense I'm happy I did continue watching, despite saying I give this show up. But two good episode, maybe this is a turnng point for bad writing and the show is getting good again?

Getting back on track?

Warning: Spoilers
This episode gave me the hope it might return to it´s original path, one with good content. There is still some woke in it, but much less, maybe this month cooldown was worth it.

A nice paced episode, with the usual stuff we like about this show, including that great "eagleeye" moment.

I can´t wait for the next episode.

At Last

Now this was an episode of the Rookie.

I dropped one star for very minor wokeness but other than that the episode was back to how the show used to be.

Funny, charming with a great story.

Nice to see Nathan and Molly together again.

Please more like this and no more woke nonsense.

Finally improvement from the downfall of S03
matejkaarnost14 February 2024
Have to say this is after very low and total bottom of previous episodes in whole series 3 huge improvement. Frankly speaking I am not sure if I like to continue to watch as previous stupid nonsense was a burden to survive through.

Episode is more to comedical one, but still nice procedural crime. Few things are now obvious and intentional what the producers want to point out in this show... all exactly by the prepared boxes.

Few boxes: Lucy is a type of girl which will sleep with everything moving no matter five minutes before she was in "deep" love with someone.

West is someone who everyone can do what ever they want, typical gay and all gays in LA will sleep with everyone who just smile on them. Best from school but totally useless to show how you need to learn everything from perspective of teen.

Smitty - officer from situation comedy which would not last a day in any respectable service and thus LAPD is not a respectable one.

Nolan is just old funny, talkative idiot to keep audience.

Bradford is a hardass / softie inside big brother for Lucy to addore and backup as possible love interest.

So practically from season 1 and 2 and kind of serious serial, we are ending at soap opera / comedy / political statement of screenwriters / showboard of what was on TV as main US problem at time when they woke up...

This one was a fun, so lets see how the show can be screwed further as 90% of episodes in this season are total crap.

Please get better!

I love this show, but I find it hard to believe that the guy from the wedding singer has this many ties to the LAPD, and to the multiple cases/episodes where he is involved with the problem at hand. I also love how these rookie cops are doing detective work during their training year.
