Exquisite nature views

...but poorly put together and schematic film. Some acting performances were very one-dimensional and fake (the rich lady of the mansion and the villains of this story - two brute rednecks - were all like caricatures). A couple of decent - although not great - acting performances (Liis and Toomas), but, for me, they could not save this film. There was too much going on in this story and none of the multiple intriguing relationships got enough airtime to manage to surface from out of the swamp of amateur film-making. What is it with Estonian films? Every time I take time to watch one, I see waste... complete waste of great actors, beautiful scenery and then such poor directing and uninspiring scripts that it's also just such a waste of the audience's time...

Colorful, in Many Ways

To be honest, I didn't expect so much! Previous new Estonian movie I saw, was a vulgar horror with many good actors and it was too tiring to even search a reasonable sense in this. I apologize.

But, Soo was different! Thank you for coming to Pärnu tonight, it was memorable premier with some cast and with some authors.

I liked this movie, because it was honest! There was a pure example - always has existed people who are different from what is expected of them, but still they can be valuable in many different ways.

And more - the movie soundtrack was really good, likewise work with a camera.

Thank you for actors - you made this script memorable. Might even think - Oskar Luts wrote this story just last year not a little more than hundred years ago.

By the way. This movie was totally different from a play "Soo" with Elmo Nüganen and Merle Jääger. Probably times are different. So, I recommend this movie and you will get one nice touching story from history.

Foggy swamp

Young painter returns from Paris to his brother's farm during WWI. Farm is in a small village near the swamp, he's comeback affects multiple relationships, something must change.

Good roles - memorable bad guy Martin Kork and I liked all the others too. Story is based on a quite little-known book but was interesting enough to follow.
