Problem Solving
CulvertonSmith21 November 2021
Man, this show rocks. It's great to watch Dexter work through this increasingly difficult situation which he's created. Solid tension, intriguing developments, and a very engaging 52 minutes. I can't wait to see how he deals with the problems awaiting him in the next episode. Really digging this new series!

plot thickens.
tonyfromlg21 November 2021
In my opinion, a rocky start to the season now redeemed by "Smoke Signals." a lackluster plot thickens with characters all throughout. Harrison finds his own side story as he has a choice to make that could either impact his life in various ways, or impact another students in another way that would eat him with guilt. We see a old Dexter vibe as a heated confrontation in the woods with Dexter and the PD . The intensity, trickery, and comicalness blended perfectly for me. Although Debra in the first couple of episodes was dreadful in my opinion, they brought it up a notch with her appearances, seemed a lot more quirky this time out. We also get a harder look at the current antagonist, who is terrifying. The scene was vulgar and gut wrenching. Perfect traits for a return of Dexter antagonist. All throughout this episode keeps your attention in different ways. Definitely can't wait too see what happens from here.

Good episode but I don't like the timelapse opening
asaxx22 November 2021
Good episode yet again, I like how things are going. However, I don't like the new opening where they show us a fraction of a second of upcoming scenes in the episode. I just wants to see it in the episode, there is absolutely no need to see a fast timelapse of things that going to happen in 30 min or so. Didn't see anyone mentioning the opening thingy so I wanted to share my thoughts :)

Dad. Wow. My new favorite word.
Shadowboy_25cm23 November 2021
Ten years have passed, fans were unsatisfied with the final 8th season of "Dexter" and Showtime understood that some adjustments had to be done, but also, that there is still a fanbase and interrest in this show.

Now, Dexter is back, episode 3 and it's getting really really good.

Without spending too much words: I like Harrison and the development between Dexter and him.

This episode is better than the first and second one. It's highly enjoyable, suspenseful, with some surprises and teasing into directions that I can't wait for the next episode: I've finally arrived in this new season of "Dexter: New Blood".

My rating for this episode: 8 stars.

Highly recommended. Watch it!

The beginning of the return
asas-7468321 November 2021
In this episode I saw the old Dexter not exactly but I started getting excited with the episodes I can't wait for the next episodes , It is true that these episodes are not comparable in the old seasons, but there is an improvement with each episode .

Best episode so far. Not giving it a 10 because I miss the old camera work and directing of Dexter. They seemed to have gone with more monotone camera angles and scenes.

The best episode so far
mrewan200321 November 2021
At first I thought that nothing would top episode 1, because it was so good, but after watching episode 3 I changed my mind, and I strongly hope that the next episodes are better and better, because the revival is so far incredible!

The worst episode so far. Still quite good tho
jkg2321 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First of all I think that there is just too much of this school/teenagers crap. It just kills the vibe for me.

I also hate those little plot holes. Like how the hell Dexter got to that place where he burned the body without anyone noticing/suspecting anything (especially Harrison) if people were still in the city ? 0 explanation, just somehow got to that place out of nowhere.

Furthermore everyone is suddenly gone out of his house everytime he wants to do something with the body. No one is suspecting him of anything even tho he is the only one living there (!!) and they saw another person in the woods on that footage. They are making those police officers stupid af and I mean too stupid. Way too stupid.

But regardless it's still a very interesting and entertaining episode, plot thickens, tension is great and you just want more and more. People rating this 10/10 are just lying to themselves tho. It's simply not that good.

Phenomenal.
blndbahaden22 November 2021
The revival continues to amaze. The plot slowly but surely moves forward and it becomes more thrilling as it goes. We finally got to see this seasons villain at work and his work kinda resembles the Ice Truck Killer's work. Can't wait to see more of just about everyone and everything in Iron Lake.

much better than 1 and 2 and actually quite entertaining
hakra128 November 2021
Finally the story has some body, there is athmosphere, Hall warmed up and it was fun watching. Sure, there are still some logical flaws, but after the quite poor 1 and 2 there is difference in quite every scene, in acting but also technical stuff. And finally im interested how it goes on. Humour is back, side shows are getting created.

No, it's not picking up
tbsitu4 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I keep trying to give the show a chance, but I feel like there is no correcting for this crashing plane.

I did find it funny that the bully-storyline is going into a school-shooter scenario. For a show that insists on telling moral lessons, what are we to make of this? Do not help nerdy kids because they might be school shooters?

The funniest thing is that I joked with my friend while watching - I said that Harrison befriended the guy "just to play it safe in case of a school shooting". It was a terribly bad joke but I was shocked when the writers actually went this route.

I feel like you can predict the story progression by coming up with the wildest, most ridiculous ideas, at any point in the story and there is a highly likelihood that you will be correct. It's astonishing.

I see people complaining about the alpha Harrison who seems like a 10/10 alpha king and I agree, the kids story is a bit of a ridiculous one. I have to say though I like the actors performance. He plays the role well so I hope he is not catching slack for the braindead writing of his character.

All in all.. Better than episode 1. Maybe we can reach five stars by the end of the season. For now it's mostly a comedy show where you see if you can predict the ridiculous story events.

Double Episode's
dempas-2281321 November 2021
New Dexter is great, its just a shame that they don't release double episode as you want to keep watching more. You can feel the lead up to some killer action and bitter cold endings.

Another slow, yet entertaining episode
Dannyboi9423 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Like last week, this episode was slow. But this isn't new to Dexter. The original show was the same; a crazy murder at the start, followed by slow episdoes, then finish with an intense, crazy finale. I believe this new show is going down that same route.

I am starting to like Harrison a lot more because of this episode. He has a very dark personallity, which shouldn't be surprising considering who rasied him. His chemistry with Dexter is very realistic, and it's interesting to see it slowly develop.

There isn't much that happens in this episode, execpt the usual, Dexter cleaning up his own mess, but it brings a great deal of joy, and nostalgia. I couldn't care about this new love interest for Harrison - Audrey. She seems to be quite annoying, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she'll go on me....or maybe not.

The episode was beyond imagination and exceeded the limits of beauty. And we, the followers, are promised a great masterpiece, so let the TV prepare for it And starting from the third episode, we see a terrible and beautiful acceleration. The events and all the episodes made me stunned after each episode ended And I thank the writer for what he provides, and I trust his words that the end will explode the Internet.

This weekly wait is pure torture
bspwkbg21 November 2021
I don't care how this story goes, I just love that it's in my life, I didn't even watch the original 8 seasons(only 2 episodes of Season 1,and I know the series finale was notoriously abysmal-on lar with that of game of thrones), but based on what I heard and the 2 original ones I watched I love this, I love Dexter as a person, as a vigilante that kills bad people for good, I wish I could do that, sadly in real life it's hard to tell who is truly evil enough to be done like this, people are too complex and what they do they don't do in front of people, that's why Dexter is an escape, and many others in TV and movies we root for them. I love Michael C. Hall ever since from SFU, and he is just perfect in Dexter. Anyway, can't wait to see more.

Great episode! But...
ostborgdaniel22 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was a good episode, but there was some small things that confused me. When Dexter was called to the principal's office because they thought Harrison cheated on the test, they then said he got a high score and better than everybody else... Then they agree that Harrison should retake the test, but have a teacher there to make sure that he's not cheating. Did he do the same test again? Wouldn't that be a little dumb? Cause if he already has done it, and answered most of the things right he could just change the things that he didn't get right to get a higher score...? So when they're back in Dexter's cabin and Harrison and Dexter bump into eachother, Harrison tells him that he's dissapointed that he didn't have his back, and that he got a higher score this time. Well of course you got a higher score, because you did the same test again and already know the right answer. And could just change the answers that you got wrong or was unsure on. Right? Am I just overlooking something here, or am I right?

Also another thing is, when that investigation guy came and analyzed the crime scene and perfectly explained what happened. There is a hole where the stone that Matt hit his head on. Which Dex took. But why is the hole of the stone still there? It's days ago since Dexter took that stone and the spot of the stone is still there? Surely that would be covered up by now, with snow or at least Dexter should have covered it up himself when removing the stone...

These are all small things and I don't mean to just nitpick cause the episode was great! And I love that Dexter is back, so these things don't really mean much, just thought I should point it out. :)

Really good episode
vm2998223 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Dexter is narrating the story and after burning the body meets with the father of the victim. As the ashes of the burned son are falling Dexter gives drunk dad a ride. What is remarkable in this scene is Dexter's sarcasm and mockery of the dad. He has zero empathy and all of the psychological hallmarks of a serial killer. Don't fall for smart ass jokes and dark humor this is the most frightening moment of the show and its meant to show the true mental issues that Dexter has.

I'm Just Wild About Harry
douglasmcbroom22 November 2021
This was the most solid episode thus far, but already one thing is very clear: This new incarnation misses the old cast very much. The new supporting cast is no where in the same league as the original; especially the insufferable Deb taking over for Harry.

Another very disturbing event, in this episode, was the ugly appearance of wokeism. Let's hope that is temporary.

It's also clear that Harrison is going to be a major player and is the heir apparent.

I loved the early Dexter and this episode felt like the old times. Great to see more depth to the side characters. That cliffhanger in the end? So good.

New Blood continues its fine start to the season.
bayleykedar26 November 2021
Another stellar episode. Dexter has never pushed the boundaries of filmmaking, or even storytelling, but it has consistently pushed the boundaries of entertaining, engaging TV.

It's important to rate a show accordingly, based on what it is trying to achieve as opposed to what you, personally, want from it. Dexter isn't aiming to be the most masterful, innovative TV show around. It's great entertainment, with a well-written narrative, great leading (and supporting) performances that create a very likeable cast whom the viewer can root for or root against.

I'm really enjoying watching Dexter back on my screen. This episode continues to progress the narrative, as our Dark Passenger flails through the night to cover up some of the cracks he left after the events of the premiere. The villain this season is as intimidating and as intriguing as ever. We don't know who this is yet (although it's almost certainly one specific character!) and his presence reminds me of the villains from S1-4 of Dexter as opposed to some of the less memorable villains in the later years.

The Harrison - Dexter arc is particularly interesting and I now understand why the showrunners felt they had to wait for Harrison to grow up to revive the show. It adds something for Dexter to lose, something that he must evolve and change for, as opposed to his surroundings being nothing more than a form of rehabilitation for him. He is forced to live in the real world, with his real son, and the chemistry between the two actors makes scenes between the pair highly enjoyable to watch.

It wasn't the quickest episode or the most dramatic, but the tension and the stakes are slowly rising. A better episode than last week, and one that ends on a slightly confusing note. I'm as excited as ever to continue watching New Blood, and I have nothing but praise for how the showrunners have handled this revival.

From alligators to bears in the abandoned mines
gedikreverdi22 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was such a good episode again with the Native American death ritual, the abandoned mining tunnels, the way how he comes up with a way of disposing of the dead body again, the ways how he misleads the police and K9s. Besides, the dead guy's father lies about his son.

Harrison, hmm
mycannonball27 December 2021
Lots of development for Harrison and I can see this going a few different directions for exactly how dark Harrison is. The school scenes were good, and Dexter is showing more layers in New Blood than I felt like he showed in the original Dexter (which I like).

A little too Fargo
dannylee-7808218 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love that they mentioned Fargo. The show does remind me a lot of Fargo, especially season 1. Same vein of absurdist humor from Dexter, snow-covered small town atmosphere, mysterious murder, decent violence. I'm not complaining because Fargo was genius and it's good to see Dexter operate in the same realm.

Harrison is such a sigma male I love him. It's still unclear if Harrison resembles his father in a negative way. So far we are shown a complex character, who has a sense of justice and also ok with blood. Does that sound like someone?

Another solid episode. Good character development and a well-executed Dexter plot. While set in a completely different environment 10 years later, this show manages to capture the parts of the original that was most loved by fans and display it well.
