I admit, I wasn't sold on this show at first. In an atmospheric of gritty reboots, making one of the Fresh Prince seemed like a recipe for disaster. But so far, the series has done a great job reframing the characters into a modern environment and bringing a new perspective to scenes from the original. And this season premiere continues that trend. Even though you want Will to come back to the Banks immediately, you understand why he wants to make it on his own and why he feels hurt by Uncle Phil. Also, there were some surprisingly wholesome moments in here. Despite what the naysayers tell you, this show isn't all doom and gloom. Some of the side stories felt just a little rushed in this episode, but overall, they definitely set the second season off right.
