This movie lives somewhere in a strange vortex between Spinal Tap, Almost Famous, Slacker, and Rookie Of The Year. It's one of those rare, not so self-serious indie movies, that is accessible and entertains without being flippant or overly avant-garde to cover up a lack of plot. Translation: Almost everyone will find it watchable and enjoyable. That said, if you're in a band or have ever been in a band, you'll find it a little bit funnier that everyone else.
The Get Lost Losers follows the band The Get Lost Losers, as their flawed, thick, and hateable yet sympathetic and reluctantly likeable charismatic front man Jason Sereno tries to take them to the top despite his appetite for self-destruction. This journey is made more complicated by the fact that the band's manager is also his girlfriend's 10 year old son, and his "son figure."
The soundtrack is packed with funny but solid classic rock songs including Your Whole Family Is Trash, Solid Lover, and F*%&ing Like Its 1970.
This is a fun and funny movie with heart. Three thumbs up!
