Excellent resource for the development of young (black) african american men. This may be dated but still very relevant with some outstanding models of what discipline and integrity can achieve. Love this film! I don't understand why it isn't sourced more often or even advertised more for educators. I have been using this since it came out in 2006. I just showed it (November 2023) to a 17 year old who was doing a social justice research project and he thought it was awesome. He was inspired by the message as well. This film is for all and especially the youth who have aspirations to be a professional ball player, rapper or even a gangster like tough guy... The message hits home for many.
I recommend this to teachers, counselors, parents and any who work with youth in need of intervention/motivation. This inspiring short film has been a catalyst for so many young people in the last 15 years that I have lost count. This film along with the book "the Pact" is a great group project for any small group to use as a discussion piece. Young men need to be inspired!
