I really like these stories...

Suranne is a good actress . I've watched her in other films and she shows great range.

I appreciate the stories behind this series and getting such an in-depth view of women and their thoughts, struggles and heroism in some cases.

What I don't like ( call me old school) is the hyper active camera work. The constant zooming in and jagged, jiggly camera action is distracting and made me dizzy.

I get the use of it as part of the impact of the dialogue but it's way over-used! Even in the quiet, solo moments the camera can't stay still. It's like a hyperactive child has control of the camera.

But even with the use of the jiggle camera, I think the improvisation by Suranne was great.

Breathtaking performance!

I love this series of mini films but this one in particular left me feeling so many emotions. Suranne Jones' performance was absolutely outstanding - I found myself feeling claustrophobic and, at times, tight-chested and breathless alongside her character. She gave such a gritty, real and relatable portrayal of one woman's desperate attempt to manage her deteriorating mental health. Just wow.

Phenomenal Performance

This is a 45 minute episode that leaves you completely breathless from start to finish. Leading Actress Suranne Jones left no stones unturned, she captured Victoria's mental health perfectly on screen. It was empathetic, gritty, raw, unnerving, claustrophobic and intense. It is a difficult watch as one needs to find that mental energy to watch this outstanding piece of work. Jones' deserves a BAFTA Award for this!

BEST PIECE OF ACTING I HAVE EVER SEEN ON TV!

Lead Suranne Jones changed the definition of acting with this episode. It was so raw, emotional, engaging and heartbreaking to see such an accurate portrayal of mental health which was all conveyed on her face. She should have got a BAFTA for it.

Well acted, but not much narrative

'I am Victoria' tells the story of a woman breaking down under the pressure of "living her best life". But this short film feels more like a concluding act to a larger drama. Victoria is unbearable to herself and others, but not a monster; as a character, she's hard to either love or hate, just a certain type of person whose life is out-of-balance, and the absence of backstory makes it hard to get more involved. I don't particularly love 'American Beauty' but it's comic treatment of a similar subject (Annette Bening's character) was certainly more entertaining.

STOP SHAKING THE CAMERA

Very good performance from the leading protagonist but for God Sake, stop shaking the camera while filming. What's the point, make us dizzy? Great set though, showing the asseptic look needed to situate the story.
