The setting and landscape in this movie are just beautiful. The young actors are very good. Having a fantasy idea for a movie is not enough. You have to develop and structure the story, and this movie does it well. Worth watching for kids and adults too.

Lovely family movie

We enjoyed this film a lot!
Perfect for children aged about 7-12 (but our 4 year old daughter enjoyed it as well), with an engaging magical story that stirs their imagination. And there is a lot to enjoy for the parents too: great acting by both the young and grownup actors, believable dialogue, well-paced story and a gorgeous-looking Amsterdam in the fall.
Most of the adult roles are rather one-dimensional, but this is not a problem as they are still believable, and funny, and all serve the story which is about friendship and children finding out who they want to be.
