Short stories about an athletes best performance
excell9012 July 2020
I anticipated a better documentary, they are very short stories about 6 + minutes filmed in black and white. The special effects seemed overdone and cheesy. My favorite athlete featured was Lebron James.

Why make this ? Each eps is a 7 mins monologue without the actual video moment
Xavier_Stone14 July 2020
Filmed in Black and White to be edgy. Terrible voodoo graphics and video.

I'm guessing that the producers didn't have enough money to actually get the video rights for what the athletes are actually describing.

This is just all around unbelievably a horrible hot mess. Watched one and done.

There are tons of youtube videos that are better made, longer, more researched and have a better production value.

Only 1 positive
gabrielzeigler12 July 2020
The graphics completely ruined it. This was something I was looking forward to... it was definitely not the 30 for 30 caliber many probably expected. The only positive was the length of each story (5-7 min) - which was the only reason I watched more than one. Good idea that was poorly executed and lacked any amount of supporting content to help tell the stories. Don't waste your time.

APPLE CREATED THIS HORRIBLE THING?
fernandavfv17 July 2020
I'm in shock that this is an Apple creation. Couldn't they have done a normal documentary with less overdose of graphic BS? The content had so much potential...

Awful - just awful.
jensnolting26 July 2020
5-7 minutes is 5-7 minutes to long. What a waste of time and what was in the cocktail of the director / graphic coordinater?? I need a drink right now...

Weird. what did I just watch ?
themoiz9410 July 2020
Black. white. spirals. weird shapes . Don't know if it was trying to hypnotize people watching or not. Rubbish is the kindest word I can use for this. If this is what apple markets for its apple TV or original or whatever , its time to disconnect it. Garbage.

A minimal in great inspiration
Dominantxx2 December 2020
The showing of all these greats and one of their greatest moments that really did something in their career. It's the minimal aspect of it that makes it something to look forward to watching. If you've followed those moments in-person whether it was on TV, live in-person, read the headlines, or didn't know about those stories till now, this show really makes a great presentation of the aspect of greatness. The goals, the setbacks, the mindset, what do you want out of it, and then the great realization that inspires you to push through, then you get out of it and set it on fire.

I don't know why people are hating on this. They're talking about it being too short or how cheesy the effects are, but the fact that it's too short, it takes away the aspect of lingering too long on something you should've already grasped, which is a good thing, because you don't need to keep repeating that same point you're trying to get through. You want to really flip between all the stories and show you examples, not the same one repeating. As for the effects, I thought that they gave each athlete a specific representation. If they just showed old clips and the athlete talking, they wouldn't have hit through the message they were getting at. It was honestly very good.

A lazy doc with athletes on couches talking about their best wins.
Opinate10 July 2020
I expected to be pulled into the stories the athletes were describing with the use of footage of roaring crowds, moves leading up to the great moments then the amazing actual event; possibly some commentary from coaches or experts or sport psychiatrists, but no, its just athletes sitting on couches describing what we can't see, cut with colorful graphics that remind me of the visualizer in iTunes that I sometimes click on by mistake. I am sure the actual moments were amazing but due to lazy filmmakers I am no better informed about them. A big snooze unless you are a super-fan of one of these athletes, who are in no way at fault for the show being boring.

Strange

Athletes talking about good or best games with some clips of sports and strange graphics. I got nothing from watching it. Just weird.

I imagine watching this is like being on LSD
paultrengove7 September 2020
Seriously , what a disgrace. 7 champion athletes telling their story and the creator puts a graphical effect on every single shot.... I felt like I was going to be sick 2 minutes in. We get you know how to use Adobe After Effect, well done ... but you've ruined what could've been a cool little series of short docos.

Not as great as it should be
naomi-schell7 September 2020
Overzealous use of some crazy graphics by someone with a lot of post-production COVID lockdown time on their hands ruined this for me! I usually enjoy a bit of an insight into the mind of a sporting mega hero...but I highly doubt each of the athletes showcased in this short documentary series was on acid during some of their greatest sporting moments!

Hard to watch
memerson-115639 January 2022
These were shorts about moments the athletes had but, the dumb graphics made it hard to watch, even for 5 minutes.. Thus was poorly done.. Do not waste your time watching.
