Jack Warner, who plays Oliver in the film, was cast because of a chuckle he made in one of his show-reel scenes. During the audition Jack and Director, AJ. Lamb ended up chatting for about 20 minutes before getting down to the real audition and after the audition was over the role was immediately offered to Jack.
In the shot where Emma enters the toy shop, there was no space for a conventional Dolly and Track, so in order to be able to pull of the camera move they needed, AJ and the Camera Team mounted a slider onto their tripod. They unlocked the pan on the tripod head which allowed them to pan the whole slider whilst allowing them to dolly in and out simultaneously as you see in the film.
